Well guess what I have another Bengal! She is the sister to the one I already have, they are both almost 4 months old now. I guess the person who had planned to take this kitten didn't work out, so the breeder called and asked if I would like her.
My only problem is now, WHAT DO I NAME HER????!!!! Took me months to decide on the name Kumar for my first Bengal! I will post some pictures soon, she is still getting used to her new home tonight.

Congratulations on your new kitty. :D I just got my 4 month old Bengal just over a week ago. It is hard to decide on a name :) One name I like that starts with a "k" is Keely which is Celtic meaning beauty.

Hi Red

How did they get on? Did they recognise each other? What colour/coat pattern is she?

I?m not sure if you have any other cats but two Bengals are so much more fun than one. They will cause CHAOS in the house but it?ll be well worth it just to see how happy they are. I would advise anyone buying a Bengal to buy two (if they can), they are so energetic that they need each other (or at least another cat) to keep them entertained.

Looking forward to the pics!
Heidi

P.S I'm useless with names, If I think of anything I'll let you know :)

The girl seemed to recognize Kumar immediately, it was hard to tell with Kumar as he had been to the vet earlier that day and was not feeling well after a rabies shot and was very grumpy. Today though, they look like they've never been apart. She is also a spotted leopard Bengal, and though they were from the same litter she looks much smaller than her brother.
This will make us a two Bengal household, we actually have two other regular gray cats. I must be crazy to have 4 cats!

I'll try to take some pics tonight...

I am worried about my girl, she has been limping on her hind leg for 2 days now. She seems ok otherwise, and still running and jumping around. I don't know when she hurt her leg, and her vet appointment is not for another week. :(

We had the same thing happen a fews years ago to our boy.....It turned out to be a cracked paw-pad.....You had to look very closely to see it and even then you wouldn't of thought it would of caused any pain!

I take it that you've already checked for foreign bodies like glass or thorns?

If she's still as active as normal it's probably nothing to worry about.....although I've taken ours to the vets for less!

Must be hurting her quite bad, as Bengals are normally indestructable :o The ladder from the cat tree fell full force onto Hestia's ribs the other day during a wrestling session, not even a yelp from her :o I would see if you can get her in before next week....

I've tried to look at her paws closely, but she does not like it and very hard to make her sit still. She has been playing and jumping like normal, the only time you can tell is when she is walking normally, she definitely has a limp that has been there now for 3 days. We've taken hold of her back paw and bent if back and forth, and it doesn't seem to cause her pain that way. I can't imagine what is wrong, though they play pretty rough and often run into things and fall off things when they are playing together. They've gotten under foot more than once too, but I don't know of a specific incident that happened with her foot.

I am having another problem with one of our normal cats, (non bengal). She is about 4 years old, and seems to totally hate the bengals, and the bengals seem afraid of her and run away or hide when she comes around. It doesn't seem to be getting better, this cat has become so mean and seems to be stalking them when they come out of my bedroom. The bedroom has become a little bengal haven, I keep their food and litterbox there, and because of this other cat, they tend to stay in there for long periods of time.

I've been tempted to take that cat and lock her down in the basement till she behaves and the bengals have grown a little bigger!

I don't think locking the other cat in the basement will help! Maybe the others on here can provide some advice on making them get along a bit better....?

Are the bengals allowed in your bedroom and the other cat not, as if this is so, this will be a main cause of your problems. As the cat will become more and more jealous and the behaviour alot worse.

Apparently rubbing lavender on all the cats is mean't to be good, as it disguises each of the cats scents and so they don't feel so threatened.

You need to make sure this other cat is included in everything with your bengals.

She is and has always been welcome in the bedroom, that is until she starts hissing and growling, then I make her leave. The door is left open during the day, but the Bengals tend to stay in there a lot. At night we close the bedroom door and the Bengals are perfectly happy to be there.
I bought a cat collar for the gray cat (her name is Allie) today, it has a bell on it. I'm hoping this will help stop her stalking the bengals, but we'll see what happens! Maybe I'll also give the lavendar a try. Do people use dried lavender or lavendar oil?
