Thanks everyone! We all survived!! Pictures are under Gallery 'Chewy's Little Brother' I think.
I won't lie, the fizzy wine helped on the Dutch courage front...(It WAS Friday afternoon, after all!) so by the time my OH arrived home at 11pm the cats were tucked up into bed after 4 hours of (closely supervised) growling and wrestling!
The kitten had been installed in the cosy family bathroom by this point so I told Jamie that he'd better go and take a look because I had put up the new medical cabinet myself and what did he think?
So he walks in and completely missed the litter tray, bowls, toys and kitten curled up all cutely in an old washbasin. Typical male! Finally, he looks down, sees the baby (who proceeded to roll onto his back and give a sweet meow = brilliant timing!) and says...
'Awww, what is it?'
I told him it was a cat (bless him, he had been on the plonk too) and he asked, 'What kind is it?'.
I told him he was the same as Chewy (kitten is snow spotted and Chewy is brown so his wee mind was a bit confused) and he protested, 'But he's so friendly'!!
At this point the perfectly trained kitten was wriggling on his back and nuzzling into OH's hands whilst purring madly.
So it was a huge success story really, I mean, what man can resist this face??? Thanks for all your support and encouragement guys!
