Hi to everyone,
I am new to the board, and this is my first post. My name is Laura,I live in southern California, and I currently have 2 cats, a 6 yr. old male, white, DSH named Tito, and a 7 month old bengal female named Natasha (Tasha). She is a F4, and I gave her a Russian name to acknowledge her ancestry from an Amur Leopard cat. Last February, my beloved cat of 18 years died and my husband pushed to get a new kitten. I have always had rescue cats, but it wasn't kitten season and we went to a breeder. Bruce, my husband, fell in love with Tasha immediately. I was still grieving, and had some doubts because, although playful, she didn't seem cuddly or allow me to hold her. My concerns were unwarrented, Tasha is a love bug. She purrs the moment I touch her, follows me everywhere, snuggles next to me all night, cries and searches for me if she wakes up and I'm not in the room. She integrated quickly with Tito, and they play together well. I have enjoyed reading this forum because it validated a lot of "bengal" antics I have been experiencing the last 3 months. Especially Tasha's facination with water. I was puzzled at first at why she took each toy, immersed it in her water bowl, then rolled in her litter (yes, I figured out to get corn litter), then in food bowl, then water bowl, then when it was a complete dripping, crusty mess deposit it in our bed at 4:00 a.m. I have many more stories I will share later, but I find her to be the most engaging, entertaining and lively cat I have ever experienced. She never fails to keep us laughing. My husband said he never wants any cat but a bengal in the future. Well, I just wanted to say hi, hopefully I will learn my way around this forum and I am looking forward to interacting with you all. I am going to post some pics of my babies in the photo forum.
