Does anyone have it and if so how well does it work ? I understand how it works just wondering if anyone that has it, has good or bad experiences. Thanks for any input

I've got both my cats insured with Petplan - it costs around £8 per month per cat. As to how it works? I know that we get monetary help should they go missing/get lost etc. Plus help with vets fees for accidents/illness (but not due to old age)
If you were going to take out insurance i'd definitely advise you to read all the small print before you sign up as there are always a few exclusions to each policy.

I've thought of getting pet insurance before, but instead I just keep a fair amount of money in my bank account "just in case."

I haven't been convinced that pet insurance is really worth it. It may be for others though.

We decided to take out pet insurance as Izzy will be 9 yrs this october and we didn't want to fall foul of huge vet bills.

We were insured for 1 month with Petplan as it was free but had anything happened we would have had to pay £70 or £80 pounds excess which I thought excessive unless it was something major.

However we were advised to use M&S pet insurance as its just as good if not better than the Petplan. Its very easy as you could get a instant cost on line by filling in the details and I believe they are very good at paying out quickly.

I personally think its well worth the cost of insuring your cat just in case anything nasty happens as vet bills can be very expensive......although if your cat is a house cat the risks are reduced somewhat and of course it depends on the age of your cat.

Good luck but give Marks & Spencers a try as you have nothing to lose.

Thank you for all your advice I think with now adopting Ice as well we are def. gonna get it. I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't a lot of people with horror stories it seems worth it even if you only say a few dollars over the monthly fee since vet bills aren't cheap if anyone has anything else to add i would appreciate it very much

I have all my animals insured. Whilst I have never claimed on a couple that has been more than balanced out by what they have had to pay out for. The odd incident is all very well but when you get into the realms of allergies and OCD that takes literally years of alternative therapies and small surgical investigations and prodecures you can get into £1000s. I have alays found insurance superb value for money and easy to sort out and it gives me real piece of mind. I get a multipet discounht with pet plan (if you insurer three or more animals) and it makes it very competative. I would definitely recommend it.

We have all 5 of our cats insured (with tesco's), would reccomend it as you will be surprised how quickly the vet bills add up. We have had to claim a couple of times and had no problems.
