FINALLY, PROPERLY INTRODUCING KODY

I promised myself that if I could ever figure out how to post pictures that I would properly introduce myself and Kody. So, I am going to finally give it a try.
My husband and I live in Sugar Land, TX (a suburb of Houston) and we adopted Kody from a shelter on May 4, 2008. He had the most amazing eyes I had ever seen staring out at us from a small cage. I had never really heard of Bengals, he just looked so terrified in that cage it broke my heart. The lady that surrendered him to the shelter had turned in his TICA registration certificate, so we knew his name.
After a couple of weeks I was playing on the computer and I googled his name KODAK MOMENT OF MYSTRE and I was in shock when it pulled up a website with his pictures on it. I started making phone calls and sending emails and was able to figure out what had happened. Kody had come to Houston from Minnesota to be a stud for a breeder here. At 2 ½ years old he had been retired from the breeding program and was sold to a couple just about 6 weeks before we saw him. She had called the breeder and was supposed to be returning him. The breeder told me he was actually glad the lady called because Kody was the first cat they had retired and they couldn’t believe how much they missed him. They had decided they were going to keep him forever. Then she just never showed up or answered their phone calls. And there he was at the shelter!
I don’t understand why no one at the shelter contacted the him!
But, I am selfishly glad they didn’t, because he is so totally amazing, I can’t imagine not having him. We feel so blessed to have found him that day!
I think I have a pretty good theory why the lady didn’t return him to Mark, but I am just guessing.

I thank you, I tell my kids he is my only baby!

Kody loves his scratcher. Actually the one at Sam's is twice as wide as this one. They didn't get them in until recently. I had gotten Kody's at PetsMart. But then I found them at Target and WalMart, too.

I have that exact same scratcher! I also got one of the double size ones from Sam's because Sammie really likes them!

Kody is a very handsome boy, and looks right at home!
