I am looking for some advice from you expert people please! I have a 18 mnth old female Bengal who is 'home alone' all day from 8am - 5/6pm, she is very affectionate and loving when we get home, but sometimes she cries outside our bedroom door at night and early mornings. I have seen an 8 mnth (neutered) male advertised for sale who I am very interested in. Would you advise that my cat needs a companion - are two cats better than one in this situation. All I'm worried about is that my female wont be as loving and affectionate to us if she has a feline playmate..also, if male/female a good combination? Please help as I dont want to miss out on this cat!!

I had this dilemma see my post doing a poll on 1 Bengal or 2.

I have come to conclusion that my Bengal Bailey needs a playmate and needs the company when we are not there.

I think you should go for it and get the new little kitten. I think your female Bengal will love you more for the friend you have given her.

Oh thank you Emma - thats very helpful. I just dont want to do the wrong thing by her as she is such a lovely little cat, but I'm sure she must be lonely all day.

I agree with Emma .. definetly two bengals. (Alot of people have actually asked this question).
If he has been neutered than things should be fine. obviously to expect the initial settling in period and them both getting to know each other etc ...

I have two bengals (brother and sister), despite the hiccups I am experiencing at the moment with my boy, at the end of the day - they have amazing games with other and it definetly occupies them both.

I totally agree with Aimee and Bailey! I'm working office hours too and it was decided that the best for all the family was to get 2 cats. Now, they don't even bother to greet us when we arrive, they stretch and yawn from their bed.
From my experience, I didn't had any agressive, vocal, destructive, litter misbehavior, and they are now best friend ever, even if they are not littermate.
The only little problem we had was that when they were younger, they had loud chasing/playing session once in a while during the night, but they seem to have grown out of it.

I agree with everyone else - two are better than one! Ours greet us when we come home at night and chat to us about their day while we put their dinner out

I am actually wondering how I could fit a third one in, I am so addicted to them, but unless anyone knows of multi-storey litter boxes I don't think it's going to happen

Hi Sysh and Aimee and thanks so much for your great advice too...I think my mind is made up now actually as I can just imagine the chaos and fun they will cause playing together!! I had read a lot of discussion about 2 cats on the forum before, but couldnt seem to find it this morning. I hope that with the new boy being younger, he wont be the dominant cat over mine, until he settles in. The cat is a snow spotted and he is beautiful!

Ooops - sorry - and Teresa too! Will I need two litter trays now or do cats 'share'?!
