Just been the vets with her,they gave her an injection and I have to bring her back on wed to see how she is going,will be giving her chicken for a couple of days too.The male who is ten weeks seems to be weeing everywhere else apart from the litter tray,but he will do his poo's in the litter tray

Have you phoned the breeder?

We did all warn you about taking kittens too young from breeders who don't give a damn Caroline!

Anyways for the girl your best putting her back on the RC biscuits and it's just far too early to swap and change around with her food at the moment, things like this need to be done very gradually which her breeder should of informed you about.....bengals need a high quality diet especially kittens. The boys urination problem could be one of a few things so your best taking him along to the vets for checks to be on the safe side.

It may be the brand of litter your using thats causing the problem so contact the breeder and find out exactly what they've been using.....you should have been given a sample of food and litter at the very least when you took them home, this is what you get when you deal with people like this I'm afraid!

Also did the breeder say if they'd been wormed yet or anything, the little girl will have only just really been weaned onto solids probably less than 2 weeks ago so I'm guessing she hasn't.....this needs to be done straight away so ask your vet on wednesday for some decent wormers.

p.s what was the injection for exactly?

Yep she was wormed and flead, she seems to love the fresh chicken too.

Hi Caroline,

Luke is right asking if the kitten has been wormed. I know you say she has but I'd worm her again. We use Panakur paste for 3 days and then again in 3 weeks for three days again. When she is 6 months old you can give her 1 Milbemax or Drontal tablet and she won't need doing again for 6 months.

Don't give her too much chicken because she'll end up not wanting to eat her biscuits

If she has really bad runs, I'd take her biscuits away tonight to give her stomach a rest. Just leave her with fresh water. Then only give her small meals 3 or 4 times a day. Preferably just the biscuits. Just a thought did the breeder tell you NOT to give them milk as this is not good for them. They can't digest cows milk.

Ask your vet for some probiotic paste. Diarsanyl is excellent. I found it clears them up in 24 hours

Just remembered also Meemonkey mentioned the cat litter...make sure also that they are using similar litter trays, a lot of cats don't like hooded or ones with flaps on. They might prefer a basic square tray.

If they are in a big room put litter trays in all 4 ccorners until he gets the hang of it. They don't like to poo in a tray if it needs cleaning or if there is poo left in from the other kitten

Took her again today,everything seems fine, but she has only been for a poo once since I went the vets on Monday, I can mix her kitten food with the chicken now. The vet wormed her and gave her another antibiotic injection. (just to be save)Hope she goes the toilet now, if she hasn't been by tomorrow I have to get intouch with the vet again.
