Hi, we are new to this website. We would like to introduce you to our new family, 2 Bengal boys 13 weeks old. This is the first time we've had Bengals, (always had Abyssinians).
Phoenix is silver spotted/rosetted and Selkie is Brown spotted and both are just gorgeous. We live on a boat, so were worried about them adjusting, but they are going great.
They are getting used to our motor running, and are adjusting to all the noises a boat makes. We are training them to use our toilet (so we don't have to carry litter with us), and they are getting used to wearing a harness. (We have only had them with us for 4 days!!!) They are very smart kittens.
Both have very different personalities, Phoenix seems to have more wildcat in him and Selkie is really cuddly. Phoenix prefers to hang out with us, but is not a lap cat. When Phoenix is happy or proud of himself, he wags his tail from side to side like a dog.
In a few days we are going sailing, so our boys will get to have some fresh fish to eat. We will post a picture as soon as we work out how!!

We also are new here, we got our 13 week old Bengal boy Oska 2 days ago, he seems quite happy now and is showing his true colours as in into or on anything!

He was such a pest last night whilst we were trying to eat( jumping on the table and taking stuff off our plates particularly found of cheese!) that he had to be shut in his room. Boy did he moan! even though he had his own food in the with him.

Seems to be eating all the time at the moment, but he is very little only 3lbs!

We also have 3 other cats (moggies) who are adopting the tolerate mode at the moment and we get a Maine Coon kitten in a week, hopefully they will get up to mischief together.

Can't wait to see pictures of you boys, We have posted a pic of Oska in the gallery section

G'day Naomi,
Thanks for your reply, your little Oska has beautiful colour eyes. We saw that you are interested in VW. We own a pink Kombi called Daizy. Picked up our kittens from the airport in Daizy, and they didn't seem to mind travelling in her at all!!
While writing this, Phoenix is eating a raw chicken wing he's purring/growling/mowling, he's soooo cute. Selkie is grabbing a chance for some sleep (they playfight a lot). Do you have the Maine Coon kitten yet? How will you go keeping up with 5 cats? Is Oska fitting in with them now?
We have just sailed across the Gulf to Oyster Bay took 6 hours, our kittens did really well, they slept most of the time. By the time we dropped anchor they were running around madly chasing each other and their toys.

Oska has settled in really well, have yours started showing their true colours yet? Oska was a bit playful and enjoyed cuddles a lot when we 1st got him, now he runs around the house like a mad thing and has a particularly mad half hour about 10pm still very cuddly thankfully!

We get Harvey (our maine coon kitten) on Sunday, we've seen him quite a few times and he's very playful so should get on with Oska. Harvey is a replacement kitten for my maine coon cat that was run over on Christmas day, I was mortified so we had to get another one, needless to say these two won't be going outside, Alex has built them a run which is fantastic will get him to post a picture in the gallery

We started off with 2 cats and somehow ended up with 5, Oska being a bit of an impulse buy by my husband, who has always liked bengals but we were put off by bad press. We realised that Harvey was going to be a pest so thought we'd get him a friend and after talking to Bushfire Bengals at a show Alex's mind was made up.

How are Phoenix & Selkie coping with toilet training? and generally being on a boat?

Yes we're into VW's got about 10 (don't ask!) we go to a lot of shows here and in Europe.

G'day Naomi,
It's great to hear that your new kitten is settling in with Oska and the others. I'm sure it will be fun and interesting having 2 kittens with very different personalities, it's the same with our two boys.
We have just got back from a two week sailing trip the kittens are 15 weeks old tommorrow, and they coped really well. We were soooo proud of them. They had no problems with the engine running, sailing, the boat bouncing up and down waves, and they are used to wearing a harness when ever they go out on deck.
They looove eating fresh fish and squid, Phoenix grabbed one of the fish we caught, and started dragging it away by its tail, growling (it was twice the size of him) LOL
They started using our training toilet, but couldn't use it safely during sailing, (think they are still a bit too small). But will try again soon.
We are really glad we got 2 from the same litter, they love each other heaps, always grooming each other and playing together. Selkie is sooo cute, you just want to cuddle him much to his disgust, unless he is tired.
Can't believe how fast they are growing, I think they have doubled in size over the last 3 weeks!!
This last weekend we had 7 visitors over for lunch, all squeezed into our boat, we were a bit worried how the kittens would cope, but they thought it was great. All of these extra feet and skirts to play with! Phoenix was alittle shy at first, but Selkie led the way.
How's your new kittens going now? We seem to have a crazy hour in the morning and one at night, where they gallop madly up and down the boat, do yours do this too?

I'm glad they've settled in well, they are the same age as Oska, Harvey's a couple of weeks behind. They get on really well now. Curled up in bed together right now.

Harvey is completely daft leaps before he thinks, Oska watches and waits to make his move. They seem to have a mad hour of two in the morning and are very active just before we go to bed, the other three cats just look at them and go Great!
