Cat trees/scratchers

Does anyone have any recommendations as to what cat trees are the best and longest lasting? Mine has given up on me and I can't for the life of me remember where we got it from!

I don't want a very big one as its to be used at the moment by a 6 month old kitten and an old cat, but I want one that will last and also be very stable!

If anyone has any recommendations on scratchers please let me know, Thanks

my friend made mine and it is brilliant.

i find the argos and pets at home ones always always snap so wouldn't get one if they were giving them away.

I don't know what brand this one is, but I love to beat the heck out of it with my back paws and pretty much take flying leaps onto it at full speed. It's a couple years old now and although a little worn it's still going strong. I think it came from Wal-Mart. $30 bucks if I remember correctly.......

Built this one at the weekend -

Sorry for the poor photo - its made from some scraps of ply, some offcuts of underground drainage pipe and some fur fabric

We dont get our bengal kitten for another week - but the other cats have had a sniff around it already - I am sure he will use it

I'm going to make a cat condo this week, I've found some nice plans that should work well. I read that carpet isnt good for the cats since they will tear it apart and eat it. Does anyone have a recommendation for a carpet alternative, preferably found in a chain store (home depot etc)?

on the one above that I built I used sisal rope on the lower platform, then doormats on the other two platforms - the doormats seem much scratchier than carpet and should hopefully last longer

This is the start of our new scratch post . We live in a house with 3 floors so we are building one from the ground floor up to the top floor and although its not finished yet, they love it already.

I'll dig out the website that sells the sisal rope for you later on when I get home from work......it's about £30-35 for a spool of about 100m.

We got some rope cheap off ebay for our cat run I seem to remember - can't remember how much, but it was very reasonable...
