Hi everyone,

It's me,I'm back, back at work to have a rest from my two :D .They've explored every nook and cranny, sometimes twice, nearly lost Merlin up the chimmney, don't worry it's now blocked, and they seem happy enough, eating lots, sleeping fine, they play together all the time, just wanted a bit off advice. When you clean food, and water bowls etc, litter trays aswell come to that, can you use washing up liquid?just plain old Fairy or such like.I know bleach is a no-no,so I've just been using hot water. Can someone advise please? :?

Hope your felling better Hedi, empty house,no kittens left :( .How quite is it there now? :)

Hi Stalin
Glad your enjoying them.
I clean my dishes after every feed. Not sure if this is excessive or not and clean the litter trays twice a day. I scoop in the morning and empty and disinfect in the evening. I have used fairy as well so i presume its fine along with very hot water and a mild disinfectant.

Hi,

We can expect photos soon then?? Good luck with trying to keep them still long enough to pose - at first my two were a blur by the time my camera had taken the shot

I usually put my bowls in the dishwasher - not sure if that's a good thing or not but it does ensure that they come out very clean as the water's a lot hotter than I could bear washing them by hand. The litter tray is cleaned with a diluted mild detergent and lots of hot water and then a cat-safe disinfectant spray - I can't remember what it's called but it's purple and Pets at Home sell it, if you have a branch near you?

Best wishes

Teresa

Hi

Glad to hear everyone is doing well…just remember, treat them as 2yr old toddlers that can climb

With regards to the bowls, it’s perfectly safe to use fairy liquid for washing the bowls, that’s what we use (if the dishes aren’t in the dishwasher) . We actually use the new Antibacterial Fairy.

As for your litter trays, you realy should use bleach to clean them…it’s the only way to make sure any potential “Nasties” are killed off. We use Domestos bleach (diluted with hot water) to clean ours. It’s any products that contain PHENOL that you should avoid as it is poisonous to cats. You can generally tell if something contains Phenol as it makes the water go really cloudy on contact.

Bleach can be a problem with cats but provided you make sure your trays are dry after you have cleaned them, it’s OK. When it comes to litter trays. You do need something strong like bleach to kill any unwanted visitors. Demostos bleach is OK to use on your trays, but like I said, just make sure they are dry before you use them again!

Our house is SOOOO quiet. The last two babies left Saturday evening and it was quite sad :( . Still, we’re “Hoping” the new owners of our babies will be sending us lots of photos...Queue Tracey & Stalin

Hi Tracey

I'll give you a ring in a couple of days...I’m hoping you received that show schedule in the post! I’ll talk you through filling it in.

Just a word of warning, it's against GCCF rules to mention the name/location of any shows you intend to exhibit at just in case a judge comes a cross your post...Perfectly OK to brag about it afterwards though
