hi everyone. im new here.

i just picked out my new bengal last weekend, and i will be getting him in a month. i am starting to shop for new cat stuff, and i would like to know whats a good cat litter box for male bengal. i was looking at some automatic ones like the 'LITTER ROBOT'


can anyone recomend a good cat litter box??

Whatever you get, make sure it's enclosed.

It appears most bengals (and is certainly true for mine) love to dig half way to the other side of the world before doing their business, throwing litter everywhere in the process

I would just go for a standard - but large litter tray. We have one with an extra lip on it that is removable - we use it to pin down the litter liners - makes cleaning much easier!

I have never used an automatic litter tray before so I can't comment. All I know is it needs to be as easy as possible because sometimes it needs to be thrown out ASAP!!

my friend tried one of the automatic boxes with her 2 maine coon beauties. she said it was pants and got rid of it after a few weeks. ill text her to find out more details as to why it was so bad.

i just use large enclosed boxes and a litter locker

I've never tried an automatic one either but I can't help thinking I'd rather spend the money on other things for my cats

I agree it needs to be a deep box and it's also a good idea to stand it on a cheap mat so that it catches some of the litter they track out on their paws. I've always used litter boxes with a lid on for my cats in the past but my Bengals prefer to have an open box so I had to take it off. Toileting is very much a social event for many Bengals and I think the lid cramps their style

We just bought two basic big fairly inexpensive covered litter trays from pets at home and after trying out a few different litters as we had a real problem with leon initially very strong smelling wee due to an infection, we tried 4 different brands and by far found the best was cats best by a long shot! It is a little more expensive though not as expensive as the worlds best (we tried that too!) Quite sad to get excited by cat litter but its amazing stuff!! LOL They have had it in their trays for nearly 4 weeks now, I only scoop out what I need to twice daily there is no nasty smells, the litter smells as fresh as it was when first put in the tray! A 10l bag is supposed to last one cat 10weeks or 2 cats 5 weeks so not expensive at £6.99 for 10l.

I use Cat's Best too and it's great. There's very little smell and it's really easy to scoop out the used bits. My cats ate the World's Best (it's corn based) so that had to go straight away!!
