Before you all say yes, here's the story.

Pud is left on her own during the day as we both work. I feel really guilty about this and feel sshe hould have company. However, Pud seems to be a happy wee cat, and as the house is always the same as we left it when we get home, we think she's learned to just sleep the day away and she's nto overly fussed about beign left. She's an indoor cat for the moment, wee live on a building site and are bordered by a reasonably busy road and a canal, so I don't see her getting outside on her own until we move (many years away). This means that when we're not around there is the potential for her to get bored and lonely.

My main concern is I'm thinking about this because I feel guilty and not because it's in her best interests. She came from a very busy household where she was known for growling and wolfing down her food at mealtimes. She has never done this in our house which I believe is because she has no competition in the food stakes. This makes me really wary of introducing another cat, especially as I'm in a two-bedroomed flat and if they don't get on there really is nowhere for them to go. I'd hate to give any animal a home and then take it away from them.

So what do you think? I really am stuck over this. I've contacted Bengal Cat rescue and they have bengals for rehoming here in Scotland, but I really don't know if thsi is a good idea or not!

For what its worth I probably would not get another in the circumstances you describe. Its sounds like Puddy is very happy in her home with her routine. I know that feeling when you have to leave them (and I have 3!). I would not rock the boat and to be honest, Puddy may not be happy having to share her home.

Try to not feel guilty ( I know its not easy). BUT there would be nothing worse than bringing home another baby and then finding out your current baby is not happy especially if it is done predominantly to ease your guilt.

If however you really wanted another baby for other reasons..............then I would probably provide a different response
