I recently finished Jackson Galaxy's new book: "Total Cat Mojo" (I listened to the "audible" version). I liked it, it's an interesting book, but kind of all over the place in terms of content. It talks about a lot of things including diet, providing a good environment, getting cats to get along with other pets, and then lots of "problem solving" of specific problems like litterbox problems, health problems and lots more.
At it's core, I think the concept that sort of binds it all together is his idea of "mojo". His idea is sort of that there are certain things that tend to harm a cat's general happiness and sense of contentment and well-being, and conversely things that help as well, and that many "problem behaviors" can be solved by keeping this in mind.
There's some fun stuff in there, like his categorizing cats into "mojito", "wallflower" and "Napoleon" cats, and describing the characteristics of each. I think I have 2 wallflowers (Gaga and Neytiri) and one Napolean cat (Serafina) according to him
No "mojito" cats, but I have had those in the past. My guess is that bengal cats tend not to be "Mojitos"
It's a good book, I recommend it. Some stuff in it I consider "filler" (like the "history of cats" stuff), but there's lots of good stuff in there too. I think the biggest disappointment in the audible version was that he didn't narrate it himself (like he did in "Cat Daddy"), but the narrator was decent.
