Is your guys’ cats talkers? Man, I’m not kidding, I can sit and have a full conversation with Zoe. At first, I wanted to research a behavioral thing when cats vocalize a lot, but we’ve just come to realize after several months that it’s just her personality. She not annoying at all. Can be quite cute and entertaining and it just adds to her personality. Just curious if this is a trait of the breed, or just mine.

Oh, it's definitely a Bengal thing! If Bryan doesn't get his afternoon walk or enough play time he'll let me know about it in no uncertain terms. I kid you not, he howls the house down.
There's plenty of other chatty breeds, but there's nothing like a Bengal yowl - especially at 3am if he decides it's time for another lot of play.
Little turkey........I could throttle him some days. Lucky he's so adorable the rest of the time.
Be warned, I swear he got louder around 12 months old.

My guy is definitely a talker. There is the loud "Feed me now" squawk and other complaints that are in a voice that I like to describe as "Even a mother can't love".

Then there are the roll on the floor chirps and trills that make me chirp and trill back. And tell him what a handsome boy he is. I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't actually fishing for compliments.

It gets to a point where you only notice when the cat is silent. :biggrin:

Well, I thought bengals were talkers. You know ... you ask a question and they reply with a soft cry. When getting my bengal, I realized vocal means yowling at the top of his lungs and not shutting up! I'll be working at the computer and he will stealthily come upstairs and then sneak up to me and yowl and scare me out of my chair! If you have a bengal that will just talk softly -- you are lucky. The only time I get that is in the evenings when Raiden is looking for his treats and he is sitting next to me begging and we communicate a little at that point. The yowling will start around 2 a.m.

Seems like I got the odd ones out. Mine don't talk at all. They don't have very loud voices anyhow, more like a squeek and only used when they want to tell me they are going to use the litterbox. Other than that, they are completely silent.

If you have a bengal who talks softly, consider yourself lucky! That could change at any time. LOL

Around 12 months old I would say. Brian made a good point - bigger cat, bigger voice and he'd figured out what worked to get what he wanted :lol:

FYI, they will teach the other cats too. My little calico periodically throws her head back and yowls, loud enough to make me drop something!

One of mine yowls loudly. She has a welcome bark when she sees us at the window. She also has a range of distracted yowls to indicate levels of dissatisfaction with our service or to give advance warning of visits to the loo. She also chirrups and squeaks randomly or when hunting.
Cat number two is mostly silent unless she has a question - she uses this little "why?" - and she says "bless you" when you sneeze - ok it sounds like "why?" But she replies to sneezes... Weird
