Hi all!

I just brought my two little Bengal girls (litter mates) yesterday - so it's a little nerve wracking! I've always had cats since I was a kid - but always domestic shorthairs.

Yesterday, we got home and I just let them take their time leaving the cat carrier ... I even left the room for an hour while I ran some errands and when I came back they were still both inside! But eventually they were out and under the bed and I just read and talked to them a bit. THEN I managed to lure them out for some serious cat dancer playing, although I let them set the pace!

And within an hour after I got home from work today, I had one lying on my knee and the other snuggled in the crook of it, so we're doing pretty well :)

Saf eats like a little barbarian, but Baz hasn't touched her food yet (unless she ate some kibble while I was at work) - but she's far from lethargic as she's currently yelling up a storm while walking the window ledge. But I will feel MUCH better if I catch her eating!

Aww, congratulations on your babies. It sounds as if they are settling in pretty well already and the bonding process to a new human has begun. It is really common for a new kitten to simply not have much of an appetite due to a new environment. However, if she has not eaten in 48 hours, I would be concerned. She should be very hungry by that time and want to eat something, even if it's just a small amount. You should be feeding them both what the breeder fed them. If you've switched food, it's possible she isn't interested in it. However ... today is a new day, so things should improve.

I just hope you are prepared for all the adventures a bengal brings to the table. Make sure your home is bengal-proof as they can and will get into anything and everything. Be prepared for lots of howling and yowling and the need to interact with you. They are very social, vocal, active -- nothing like your regular domestic cat that sleeps 14 to 20 hours a day. Your bengals will nap and be ready to go -- just like a two year old waking up from a nap. You'll need patience more than anything and also put up any valuables because they are sure to get knocked over at some point.

Basil is finally eating! I ended up having to go the nutri-gel paste route to get her appetite restimulated but she's all good now, thank goodness :)

Of course the hardest part now is redirecting her sister Saffron from getting too curious about what's in Basil's bowl and trying to nudge her out of the way (even when they have the exact same thing!)
