I have two kitties, a ginger tom Frankie, and Blaze my Bengal. I have cardboard boxes all over they just love them, they even squeeze into them until they fit. What is the attraction? Spent pounds on toys but they always go back to the boxes.

Welcome on board. I've got a ginger boy (Max) and a Bengal (Bryan) too.
I've yet to meet a cat that doesn't like a good cardboard box. We call them "cat traps"
They love to rip them apart and make a mess, but so easy to clean up and the cheapest "toys" ever!
I suspect it's a comfort thing, makes them feel safe, like a hiding spot.

So why do we spend hundreds of dollars on actual pet toys, when the things they love most you can get for FREE. Raiden has to hop into the Chewy box as soon as I empty it. He has no fascination with straws, however. But ... if there is a bug flying around the house, he is chasing and jumping trying to get it. They are free entertainment as well.

Mine love boxes as well, they will even try to squeeze into a tissue box, I bought them some posh ones from catFurnature they love these plus mine love straws too.

Yup... they eat them, they jump in them... they sleep on them (even if they don't fit - yes, Ishka below is sleeping "in" a tissue box)

and the best toy i ever made them was the Cat Tank below
