this is the boy album, he's now 8 weeks in the videos. photos are taken at week 5.
he is very reddish.. which i don't like
rosettes are pretty and many of them, not donuts shape tho
https://www.flickr.com/photos/150117257 ... 1596542861
one video take in no flash, one with flash

this is the silver lynx boy album
he has donut rosettes, but the head looks a bit bigger in compared to his body.
one video took at week5, the other video took in week 8. and there is a highly chance he would look like the one in the picture.

both kitten's pedigree is very good
brown's dad is the triple grand champion
silver lynx mom produce three winners in cat shows as well
by just looking at pedigree, i think the brown has better pedigree than the silver
but i dont really care, cause i'm picking just for pet and would like better look..

i've posted earlier of getting snow, but coming thru all breeders bengal kittens, im still choosing, and it's a hard decision
they are very good breeder, which I believe both of boys are affectionate and very sweet, just couldnt decide which one I should take home..
thanks

Your choice seems to come from two limited extremes. It's a tough call. If I were you, I'd rather go for better choices from more breeders. A pedigree breed, especially for unique breeds like Bengal is for life, so do exercise patience in selection over a period of several months (depending on luck..lol) which goes through as many new batches from different breeders as possible. This enables you to see through a wider range of choice for better quality selection. Its never smooth-sailing with lots of surprising twists and turns...lol.

Personally, I don't prefer snow because I feel that snow breeds tend to have light markings, regardless of whether Snow Lynx or Sepia. While the main problem with the typical brown-spotted ones are that their coats tend to turn rufous when they become adults, which tend to mask their markings.

So perhaps u're wise to be able to identify the 'reddish'ness for the first kitten, while now appearing gorgeous as a kitten will potentially become a disappointment later on, although some owners, esp the old-school ones, used to love these copper dark tan colours, but not anymore.

The trend it seems, is moving towards a light-yellow golden Bengal coat, simply because they provide better contrasts with the markings (rosettes) from kitten til adults, which will stand the test of time. Such is also the requirement of many show-quality standards. This is also the natural coat of the ALC, it's color remains light with wild dark/black markings til adulthood, unlike a typical Bengal cat, hence it makes sense.

But it's never been easy to identify one, besides looking for early signs, you'll first need to know its pedigree genes, in other wards, by first taking a good look at its parents. Sometimes it largely depends on luck, or perhaps the genes from its grand-parents can potentially change the kitty's coat as well as it ages. (I'm not the expert in this area but such 'turn-coat' incidents have been occurring, many in this forum..lol).

Putting aside the notion that 'all kitties are lovely' aside, if you are looking for a no-nonsense real deal, regardless of whether you intend intend to bring it for Cat Shows, the challenge will be on how to sift through all these apparent beautiful-looking kitties and try to predict its outcome. In other wards, like finding a rare gem.

But one is often distracted by many factors, especially the rosettes, 'Wow, what a beautiful-rosetted kitten!' and then grab it immediately, and not aware that these kittens can become horrifying looking later on when it loses its markings. Its like having the feeling of facing plunging property prices, lol.

IMO, a beautiful rosetted kitten losing its marking's contrast later will look many times more awful than a less-desired single-spotted ones with darker markings. Its akin to a jewelry losing its lustre and become coated with dust, if u know what I mean. Worse part is, you can't do anything about it. You can find many of these neglected Studs/Queen on the net, and even at the breeder.

That's the fun and thrill of owning a Bengal, you'll never know what you are gonna get, LOL.

There is no way the members here should help you decide which kitty to take. You will be the one caring and loving this kitten as well as looking at this baby every day. YOU need to make the decision. One of these has to stand out more than the other in your heart. And if you truly can't decide, grab both of them. You won't regret that decision.

Yeah, if its really hard to decide, do not toss a coin. Cats are like living beings with feelings, and like Sherry says, let the kitten choose you.

Its the most beautiful thing in the world when it happens. Its like the kitty telling you, 'Can you gimme a hug? '....

Beauty is very subjective, as we all know. Whether I find one prettier than the other, both pretty or non pretty at all... how would my choices affect yours? And if you don't plan to breed or show your cat, pedigree is meaningless as a determining factor between the two.

If you can visit the kittens, it may help. If not, go with your heart. If you're not fully convinced on either one, check other kittens.

... my 2 cents.

Visiting the cattery is always the best way to go. I don't think one would pick out a car or a large couch from a picture and buy it. No, you want to sit in it or on it and try it out. It is amazing the stories of folks visiting a cattery and one kitten in particular just stands out for them. A kitten who takes to them immediately. That is the right choice.

Diablo is a gorgeous copper and Star is a beautiful snow minx. When she first came home with me, she only had one "spot" that was darker than the rest. I was told that as she matured, the other rosettes would become darker, and they have.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

I cant imagine ever using the words "horrifying" or "awful" to describe how a bengal whos marking have faded some will look
