Hi,

I'm new to the forum, but not to bengals :)

I adopted two, one year old marble boys about 12 1/2 years ago. The original plan was to get one female spotted Bengal kitten, but these two convinced me otherwise. I unfortunately had to put down my snow lynx marble, Mishti at the beginning of April, due to cancer. So Masala (brown marble) is an only cat for the first time in his life

However, these two kittens should be coming home soon, as they'll be 12 weeks old at the end of the month! They're brother (brown spotted) and sister (silver spotted), and seem to be opposites. The boy is outgoing and the girl is pretty shy.

This is my first time having kittens, so I'm sure I'm in for a handful. Especially with Masala, who always wants all of my attention!

Oh yes, a bengal kitten is like a very cute tornado. Two, just more so.

Welcome to the forum. I am so sorry about Mishti. It is so hard losing a fur baby. Congratulations on your upcoming arrivals. They are adorable and will be a great addition to your family!

I went to my breeder to choose again today, and I'm going to be bringing two different kittens home than I originally planned..

The litter that the two that I was planning to get had FHV (I was aware of this before I picked them out), and seemed to be recovering pretty well. Unfortunately the boy kitten took a turn for the worse and died

My breeder let me choose a new boy (healthy!) and girl, as she didn't want to put the FHV girl with a kitten that didn't have it.

So I picked out two beautiful new kittens today. The girl is a few weeks older than the boy, and they'll both be coming home next month when he's 12 weeks old.

There were no silvers left, so I'm going to have a beautiful snow lynx (spotted, female this time) again.

I'm sure it was difficult picking out new kitties. Hopefully, the breeder is making sure the FHV is being treated so these other kitties can go to happy homes.

She has been keeping that litter separated from the others and treating them. The other kittens were all spoken for, although the silver girl now needs a new home. The queen was retired, and my parents are going to be taking her home soon. My mom bought a pound of Lysine. :)

As difficult as it was, I'm at least grateful that it happened before I brought them home.

Lysine is supposed to help. I give it to my outdoor kitty. Bless your parents for taking on a retired bengal. All I know is I don't have the energy to keep up with my 10-year old male bengal.
