Hello All,

I'm picking up my new kitty soon in two weeks time. Its been a long wait, and I can't help thinking of bringing back this little leopard-looking boy. He does not yet have a name yet but I'll need to think one before when he goes for the vet this Fri. I'm thinking of giving him some exotic names, perhaps from Egyptian or Greek origin, any suggestions would certainly welcome!

He is gorgeous! Congratulations. I see some TICA pedigrees there with some names whited out! Guessing they are at the breeder.

How can you tell those pedigrees are for the parents? The names are whited out! Many breeders will white out the TICA Registration number (even though one can find them online). Crazy to strike out the names if you want to know the cats in the pedigree. Those pedigrees basically prove nothing. There are so many online, a breeder could print them out and claim they are the parents (and some breeders have!). Hopefully YOU will be provided with a blue slip that will allow you to register your baby with a pedigreed name and order a 3 or 5 generation pedigree on him.

I've finally came out with my Kitty's name, after a long exhausting search.

I've heard about its increasing popularity being used as pet names, but I wanted to make sure I knew who I was looking for.

I wanted to name him after someone who is kind but not weak, with daredevil-like chivalry and yet not evil and a defender of righteousness and what he stood for.

One hero came to my mind and upon closer inspection, his 'rosetted' forearms and a tiger tattoo certainly looks very Bengal to me.:P .

I didn't realize you whited out the named in the pedigree. :biggrin:

I do have a database of bengal cats and F generations, so I am always looking for TICA pedigrees to add the cats. My info will never be posted online. Bengal-Data.com has a lot of bengals and health information as well as the inbreeding coeffiency and the percentage of wild blood from the ALCs. It also lists all the ALCs in the pedigree. I just have the cat's pedigreed name, male or female and F generations.

My advice is to have him neutered as soon as you get him. Once a male reaches sexual maturity (which occurs between 7 months and a year-- and maybe earlier), they will start spraying and that is a habit that is extremely difficult to break. My bengal was neutered at 12 weeks, however, his previous owner allowed him free access to outside and he took up the spraying, which continues to this day. He sprayed some boxes in the house this morning! You do not want that to start.

Aww Xander is a great name, for a real stunner!
Love the blanket as well - I have bought the matching duvet cover for Morgana to blend into... :rofl:
