I am completely heartbroken I have a 6 month old bengal and a 7 year old yorkie who is 4 lbs. Miss Keira the bengal will not stop jumping on my 4 lb yorkie and grabbing her scratching and biting her. She has already pulled her off the sofa almost breaking her leg, tons of scratches and 2 trips to the vet from keira's attacks. Tonight keira got her again and gave her some really bad scratches or bites drawing blood and one bad gash that will most likely end up with a 3rd trip to the vet. I have posted before about this situation and have tried numerous things to try and get her to stop, i tried getting her a wheel so she had more exercise, spraying with water bottle, putting in time out, having scheduled playtime for just her to help wear her down, taking her for walks and even having playtime with my neighbors 3 cats. I am completely at a loss right now on what to do :( My fiancé wants her gone and i totally get it he doesn't want her to hurt my yorkie anymore and i don't think leona can take much more either she is terrified of keira. I don't want to get rid of her because i am in love with her and my heart will be shattered she is perfect in every other way just can't get her to stop this! If you have any suggestions please let me know i am willing to try anything at this point and getting another cat is not an option!

Oh crumbs, sounds awkward and heartbreaking.
Have you tried a Feliway plug in, or Perhaps some Bachs Rescue remedy. It may help to calm your Bengal down. Rescue remedy may also be in order for your Yorkie too if stressed.

I would also try zylkene for both the dog and cat. It is a totally natural milk protein substance that mimics the happy effect of mother's milk on an animal. My friend had a cat who was traumatised by a house move and would literally shake and would not come out of a cupboard 6 months after moving. The zylkene helped enormously and the cat is now calm and happy. This situation cannot go on as it is. Your poor Yorkie should not have to go through this, bless her. Do you think this is play aggression from your bengal or just outright aggression? Does the little Yorkie have safe areas that your cat cannot get to? Does the cat have high cat trees etc to give it territory that is hers alone? It must be an extremely stressful situation for you with two animals that you obviously love dearly but the bottom line is your Yorkie is getting hurt and that has to stop. This is a bad situation for your doggie! Bengals are highly territorial. Mine stalks an outdoor cat that I let in the house to nap. There may be a couple of solutions here.

Talk to a cat behaviorist. See if there is one in your area and some will even Skype with you. It would probably be better to have one in your home to analyze the situation. It's not as easy to sit miles away and diagnose the solution.

Do you have your home catified! Cat trees, shelves, scratching posts, toys, cat beds? The more you have for your cat, the less likely to attack a poor dog. A cat normally prefers being high off the ground to observe everything around them and your dog cannot climb a cat tree. And bengals cannot get enough play time.

Try Jackson Galaxy's Spirit Essences website: http://www.spiritessences.com and see if there is a remedy there that might help.

The next thing is to STOP SPRAYING WITH WATER. It does not help and only compounds the situation and gets the cat stressed out. Would you like someone spraying water in your face?

My last thing is to watch a few episodes of My Cat From Hell. I am sure there is at least one which has dealt with a cat terrorizing a small dog. Check the Animal Planet website or google the name of the show. Seriously. If you truly want to find a solution to this problem without getting rid of your cat, you're going to have to spend some time researching what will work.

The other thing may be to create an outdoor enclosure for your cat. This can be portable or permanent, small or large. Make sure your dog cannot get out there. Your little Yorkie must have some peace in her life. The poor thing. Know that YOU are not doing anything wrong here. Some bengals get along with dogs; some do not! Something has to be worked out with your bengal to be less aggressive.
