Hello fellow bengal lovers,
I currently have a 7month female bengal, and am picking up a 3 month old male tomorrow.
Will it be difficult getting them used to each other? Any tips with helping them be ok with one another?
Also, it it ok to have both food bowls, and also both litter trays next to each other, or should they be separated?

Need all the help i can get, as i had never been a pet person, and now soon to be a mumma of 2 bengals haha

Are in in for a challenge? You will need to prepare a safe room for the new baby. Put food, water, litter box, bed in this room (bathroom, spare bedroom that is not used). Make sure to spend time playing with the kitty as you don't just put the cat aside and ignore it. Start swapping scents. Then ou can bring out the new kitty and let your other baby smell it. You honestly don't know what the reaction will be. Some cats will hiss and growl. Others may warm up to each other pretty fast. The main thing is to not rush it. Your new baby will be stressed out from leaving mom and siblings, so it may want to hide. Getting new people, new smells and a new sister may be overwhelming, so patience is the key. After a few days, you can begin feeding them in the same general area. Bring out the toys and engage them both in play at the same time. You make the distraction the food and toys and they will usually ignore each other.

If your older kitty gets aggressive, break them apart and NEVER leave then alone unsupervised until they are best buddies. As for the litter boxes, I'm a proponent of putting them in different locations. For some people, that is not an option as they do take up space and you want them hidden away. If you have room for them together, it is probably fine, UNLESS you have a multi-level house or a large home. In that case, make sure you have a litter box on each level or in each end of the house.

Someone here recommended the book "cat Vs cat". My kitty troubles are gone for now - this was between two sisters from same litter - but even so am reading it at the moment and it's pretty good as it explains even how to organise the house and preempt trouble

I had no problem at all introducing Pearl when she was 3 months old to Magic when he was 4 years old.
They met on the stairs on the first day I brought her home, he hissed at her and ran and hid for a while but his curiosity soon got the better of him and he came to see her.
By the next day they were fine, litter boxes together and eating close together, don't get me wrong they still have their moments when they have spats because Pearl wants to play and Magic sometimes doesn't so he will growl at her and bop her on the head with his paw, she doesn't take any notice at all.

I will borrow Brian's quote, and say, I definitely "hit the jackpot"!!

Diablo is 4 years old, and 5 months ago, I brought Star, 5 months old, home. As soon as her paws hit the floor, she went straight to Diablo. He hissed once, and within half an hour, totally accepted his new sister! (He never tried to hurt her. He followed her around, and 30 minutes later, was grooming her and playing with her.) They are inseparable, and I call them The Two Accomplices!

Safe to say, it is definitely a challenge!
My 7 month old is such a princess, and is so jealous of our new 3 month boy. There's lots of hissing and growling from her, not only at him, but us too :(
She chases him around the place, jumping on him and scratching.
We've got them sleeping in 2 seperate rooms because it's getting a bit much.
It's only been 2 days, so hopefully they start to get along soon.. fingers crossed!

Two days? They should not be introduced for at least a week! The new one should be in a safe room and you start swapping scents. No wonder this aggression is happening. This new cat has infiltrated your other cat's territory! Not good! You slowly have to bring them together. No new kitten wants to be attacked and it's totally unfair to the new kid on the block.

But since you're already there, you're going to have to help them make peace! Know that it may never happen. You can try feeding them together in the same general location. You can try to engage them both in play at the same time making the toy the distraction. You need to make sure you have plenty of catification (cat trees, scratchers, cat beds). Each kitty needs its own space in your home. You must monitor the two of them when they are together. The new boy will grow and become larger than your female. You've got to protect the little one at all costs.

I've started letting our outside cat in the house (after 2 years). He and Raiden are together outside while I'm walking my bengal and the other cat will follow us. They have always swatted at each other. However, inside the house, Raiden tries to attack the other cat. There are times they both sleep in different areas of the house and most of the time, Raiden will just walk by the other cat. But at times, something gets into Raiden and he goes into attack mode. We have to watch them at all times. It may never get better, but at least it's not where you're at. There is no hissing or growling and Raiden just loves to smack the other cat.

You're going to have to be patient and hope that things improve. Give them treats together. And you have to give them both the same amount of love. The new baby is probably stressed out having gone to a new home with new humans and a new "sister." It can be pretty overwhelming. And then a new "brother" has stepped in to the home that was controlled by another cat. It's like blending a family.

Good luck and keep us posted.
