Hi all,

I have been reading and reading up on different peoples' suggestions and foods they feed their Bengals. I am bringing my girl and boy home in a few weeks and will (after a few weeks of them being home) start transitioning them over to a brand I prefer. They are currently on Blue Wilderness, which is not terrible!

However, after my research; I am thinking a combination of Earthborn Holistic: Wild Sea Catch dry, along with Tiki Cat and Earthborn wet foods, depending on the flavors they like, would be ever better!

Does anyone have experience with these brands / have any comparable suggestions? I shop Chewy.com and local organic/grain free only pet shop.

I would ideally like to feed the two of them Orijen based off the ingredients, but I can afford Earthborn & Tiki Cat for now. Questions and comments please?? Again I am in Midwest United States.

Brian, thanks much for the thorough response! I recently read on here about Blue Wilderness so I am going to stray away from it for sure. Lost trust in consumers is hard to get back!! Do you switch flavors day by day? Would you say switching between flavors they like of both, Tiki Cat and Earthborn would be alright? Don't want to upset their tummies.

I am curious though for anyone's opinion: Do more bengals show iffy eating behavior with different foods? All of the other cats I have owned loved any food I gave! Being new to bengals though, I'm willing to keep trying different brands, if they end up being picky. Does anyone have a suggested feeding schedule with wet? (I understand each brand gives one as well) The breeder only feeds her adults one can at night, but 2 cans a day for kittens. At what point would I switch to one?

The key is to transition the kittens slowly to a new food. And I do believe kittens do better on wet food than dry food as they require the water from the wet food. Kittens should also enjoy several meals a day. How many times do you feed a newborn baby? Every four hours! While that's not the case with a kitten, I think 4 to 5 meals a day would be fine. The tummy doesn't hold much. Cats usually walk away when they are full, so hand out the wet food in tablespoons and see how well they do with it.

Cats are finicky. I have two and what one will eat, the other one refuses and vice versa. That's just the way they are. But, finding a wet food that they will devour is important since they HAVE to eat.

Thanks!!! Alright If I understand correctly, I'm thinking of feeding them the correct portion of dry in an automatic feeder in the morning as well as a 3oz can of tiki cat, with a 5.5 oz can of Earthborn Holistic at night. Depending of course what they like, but the oz would stay the same. Sound like a good plan for at least 6-9 months... then just give one bigger can each at night?

You can try to give your little kitten a 5.5 oz can of wet food before bed, but I highly doubt it will eat it all if you've been giving him feedings throughout the day. You don't want a hungry little kitten. If you want your baby to grow normally, feed it several times. If you work, the largest meal will be first thing in the morning. It's never good to leave wet food out for very long as it simply dries out. Putting out dry food to fill in is a requirement. However, if you are home with the kitty, then divvy out several small feedings throughout the day. My 10-year old bengal is a grazer and eats 10 times a day. I give him 1/2 of a 3 oz can. When that is gone, he'll get the rest. But, usually that's all he wants and comes back later. Others feed their adult cats two to three meals a day and that's it! Every cat is different in its requirements and what schedule you get the kitty used to. But kittens are a different story. They need multiple meals throughout the day.
