I do get very upset about it. It's illegal in the uk to feed anything live that has a backbone. So this simply would not happen over here which is why I'm so shocked that some people think it's ok and that they teach kids it's ok.

The nutritional value from them is negligible. This is purely a toy. And a cruel one.

I do not understand the person who was on about the live mice saying he is a lifelong domestic cat hater, what do you think a bengal is a dog or horse or what.

I guess we all have our own opinions on what we find morally acceptable.

I am someone who has spent most of my life hunting for my own meat and dairy (or buying or bartering it from local farmers and hunters).

People find the idea of hunting gruesome, but to me I am confidant in my capabilities to put an animal down with one shot.

Having worked on some large commercial farms way back when I was young, I have to say the process of growing animals for meat (to me) is much more gruesome. The extremely poor and confined living conditions, the bolt to the head that does not line up well and ends with a thrashing bloody animal or electrocution or other methods of slaughter. Even the leading of the animal to the stinky bloody slaughter area. Even the amount of waste, both meat and other materials, that comes from a commercial butcher.

I've always found those things very cruel, even at a "humane" farm. ...but there are plenty of people in the US and the UK who buy supermarket meat for their own mouths.

I know, though, that many people do not have the means to do otherwise (either financially or the life skills to hunt and butcher an animal) or they just simply do not know how bad animals raised for food really have it. ...but I understand that they are doing what is right for them and what they need to do to meet their dietary and financial requirements.

I only wanted to express that my Bengal really seems to have a need to fulfill this desire to hunt, and toys/ playtime aren't cutting it - to the point of causing him emotional and physical harm.

It is my personal feelings that this is the solution I've been looking for for almost two years. I hope I haven't upset anyone as it wasn't my intention. I hope everyone can follow their idea of what's morally correct and I hope you all have healthy happy kitties.

Thanks!

Nobody should be upset -- we all have opinions and offer them up. Every person is different. What works for one is not going to work for all. We respect that.
