Hi all,

Just found the site and it looks like a great resource and group. My little baby gets to come home in May and i am currently getting the house ready and buying all the necessary little bits and pieces.

My new babies name is Aiko, she is a beautiful brown rosetted girl and im very excited to meet her.

Here are a few pics of her at approx 5 weeks old.

I look forward to chatting and learning :)

She looks like a little sweetie and will have a beautiful coat when she comes out of the fuzzies.

Yay! Another Aussie on board!
Welcome Steve. You're girl is beautiful. Can't wait to see more photos.
I now know you most definitely won't have any lilies in your house either after seeing you respond to the old thread I dredged up.
Maybe there will be some more of us online at similar times now. Fenstar is an Aussie in Melb and there's another in Cairns (can't think who it is right now)

Welcome to the forum. I'm not sure you're going to get to take that little beauty home. I am in love with her and will snatch her up in a second! LOL. Gosh, she is stunning! Get ready for the adventure of your life. I can't get over that incredible face.

Steve, did you get down on your hands and knees and crawl around every room. Take a look at everything from your kitty's perspective! They are so curious! And find everything. And if you have anything breakable -- put it away if you want to save it.

She is such a cutie pie. I want her! My bengal would beat her up! He's a meany.

Yeh i think we have most stuff covered, starting packing away breakable decorations around the house on the weekend.

Im sure she will still manage to get into something she isnt supposed to haha, we will just see how things go when she gets home and make any changes as needed :)

Hahahaha.... I suspect Steve may have it covered Sherry. I think I accidentally stumbled across his Bengal-proofing on Facebook. (Not stalking, but saw a "Steve" post about prepping for his "Aiko" and put 2 and 2 together)

Steve - let us know if Aiko actually manages to disable the child proof lock on the toilet seat and opens it

Bengal kittens get everywhere.

You might be familiar with Fisher and Paykel drawer dishwashers - I was closing the bottom drawer when my 2 were smaller- it was a bit stuck, tried again, got a *squeak* - Ada had got underneath the kitchen cabinets and got behind the dishwasher in the time it had taken me to open the drawer and put a cup in.

To be fair, they've also climbed bookshelves and dropped stuff on my head as well.

I remember when my two first came to live with me, every time I turned the receiver on or off on my sound system the two of them would dive head first into the component cabinet! It made me very nervous as one of them loved to chew cables and there is also a cooling fan back there. Luckily they both grew too big to fit in there but they still attack the subwoofer when it vibrates. They also made caves inside the bed box springs and would hide in there. I believe they are too big for that now too.

Can anyone recommend a good deterrent spray I can get in Australia?

Unfortunately it will be near impossible for me to protect/cover all of the electrical cords behind my TV and Aiko will be able to get back there quite easily so I might need to try a spray if she takes a liking to them

Look for bitter apple spray - in the UK you can get it in pet stores.

Beautiful baby! Congrats!

I can't wait to show my bf your kitten's momma because he was wondering if there were any "redish bengal" out there and she is pretty darn orangey red! Love the coat on the both of them
