Hello, my name is Charliee. I have acquired my first bengal cat :)
He came from a girl who watched him for another family. They no longer wished to have the cat due to his illness. After a trip to the vet I learned he had a severe chest infection and mite eggs in his ears and nasal. He's been on antibiotics since the third day coming home. The last visit I had was last Sat and his chest seems to be clearing and needed another round of a diff antibiotic. I am also using a ear cleaner to clear the blockage in his ears and help his ears make better wax. When he came to me he count hear anything. He was very lethargic and seemed to sleep most of the time. I also discovered he was allergic to his previous food. So I have a great food by Orijen that seems to be doing the trick. He really likes it.
This Bengal hasn't seen a vet since he was fixed and had his first vaccines and tick treatment as a kitten. In the 6 years he's been alive, he has had this chronic chest infection. He's been ill his whole life. Well I am putting an end to it. He is doing so great!! I have had to change almost everything about his care. He's been really coming around in his behaviour and personality. We're finally seeing the corks of the bengal personality. He's so active and charming. Boy does he make us laugh. I am so in love with him already. I am excited to be in this forum, as I seem to like to talk about my bengal according to my husband. So I came here in hopes of sharing pics and info about ownin such a great animal. Thank you for accepting my request and I am looking forward to chatting with everyone :) My bengals name is Larry  lets share pictures!! If anyone could post pics for me or give directions that would be great

Wow, that's so great that you took an interest and are going to help Larry. He must be under the weather to let you nurse him and clean his ears, etc. I hope my kits never get sick. They are not very cooperative. This morning one of them refused to come into the house when I had to leave for work so I picked her up and carried her about 10 feet into the house. Oh my that was not well received!

Welcome. It's great that you helped Larry out. I'm sure he will repay you tenfold for your kindness.

As far as posting pictures, there are two ways to do it:

1. make sure your picture is no larger than about 1,000x1,000 pixels (if the photos are on your computer, resize them in an editor, or if they are on your phone, there are apps like "crop size" that will do it). Then when you making a post, there is a section at the bottom of the editor called "upload attachment". You can add all the photos you want so long as they aren't too large.

2. upload to a photo sharing site (imageshack, tinypic, photo bucket etc), get the sharing url's from the service, and then when you post here, click on the little "mountain and sun" icon in the editor, and it will prompt you for your url.

If you try and are having problems, just post for specific help, and we'll help you.

Awww what a doll. It's like he knew staying out here would keep you home :) maybe that was his master plan. :) He has already re payed me by fullfilling my dreams to own a bengal. I can't wait to see what kind of trouble he'll get into when he's better  or can I? About the pictures. It won't tell me what size they are after I crop them, it's super frustrating. I'll check out some apps. Or see if my hubby can help me :) I am so happy to be a part of this forum!!! I love bengals so much!!!

If you have any photo albums online that are "public," you can post a link. I know -- the size limit here is ridiculous. There are topics in the Gallery section on how to use other software to post pictures.

Wow Larry is a lucky cat to have found you! I hope that his recovery continues and then he can enjoy some nice years with you being healthy and happy.
