Hi

I am a new member having just bought a beautiful 6 year old male Bengal called Simba.

He is TICA registered and neutered and he really is a handsome chap.

I did my homework before I got him but I'm sure I will learn a great deal from here.

I have just retired and live alone so have lots of time to share with him.

I tried to post a pic but file was too big.

Welcome to our great forum and congratulations on Simba!!! Sorry about the picture thing. The file size has to be under 256k. We do love seeing pictures of all the babies.

What is Simba's pedigreed name? I'll add him to my bengal database. If you know the parents' names or have a TICA certified pedigree, I can get his F generation as well.

The same goes for any of you! I know I have Clare's in my database and I may have a couple more, but would love to have as many as I can in my database. You may not care about the F generation of your bengal, but I do! LOL

Simba's pedigree name is SUNSHIMMER CALLOFTHEWILD

Parents pedigree Sire name is KORSHKY WILDBOY OF SUNSHIMMER

Dam name is KORSHKY AMBERGLOW OF SUNSHIMMER

Oddly enough, I have Simba in my database. He is an F9. His dad is an F8 and his mom is an F11.

The F generation of a bengal is the number of generations removed from the Asian Leopard Cat. Your particular cat has 13.72755% wild blood. When an Asian Leopard Cat is bred with a domestic cat, the resulting bengal litter is an F1. The wild blood coefficient is 50%. The resulting litter from an F1 and a bengal becomes an F2 and so on. Recently, I found an ALC that was bred to an F9 bengal, and that litter goes back to an F1. Most people honestly don't care about the F generation of their bengal, but I find it fascinating.

Very interesting up till now I thought that F1 was people driving round in circles in fast cars.

The ALC for Simba is Art Deco of Lionsmountain. I've been trying to find a photo of him but unable to so far.
