The original owner has not responded to my inquiries. I contacted the original veterinarian who gave her her first shots. They have no record of her. I have no regrets, as I love this little baby girl, and I will do whatever it takes to make sure she is well taken care of. I feel like I kind of rescued her and will give her every chance for a healthy and loving life.
Oh well, yea, that's a great attitude to have. I probably could have returned Serafina and demanded a refund too, ala the health guarantee, but I didn't even consider doing that. Of course not! It turned out to be a great decision, as I can't imagine a funner cat to have.
I'm glad you are getting insurance too, even though they have that waiting period (rats!). A friend of mine has a young dog right now that has a medical issue that the vet is having trouble getting a handle on (labs are inconclusive, and the things that they've tried have not improved things). The vet wants to do a diagnostic procedure (biopsy) that will cost thousands of dollars. Without it they have no path forward to solving the issue, and with it they might find that it's untreatable anyway. Brutal situation for a pet owner to be in. Having good pet insurance means you can just do right by your cat, no matter what.
Let us know how it goes. The odds are that it's probably just a uri or something.
