It is a very good thing that I love Buggerlugs and that I have lost the receipt from the kitten shop and can therefore no longer take him back for a refund!

For more than a year I've wanted a nice fountain pen ( Yes, you know what's coming :-* ), but I could never justify the extravagance to myself - there was always something better to spend my money on/the money was better off in the bank. This year I really didn't know what I wanted for Christmas, and my mum and brother ended up giving me some cash. Well, I took that cash and a fair bit of my own and went to the fountain pen shop and bought a shiny new:



I brought it home, made a cup of tea, opened the box, took out the pen, put in a cartridge, started trying to write with it.

Then Babbage knocked it right out of my hand, where it fell to the floor - nib first

I'm going back to the pen shop this morning, but a quick google suggests that a nib will be 70 - 100 euros and will require the pen to be sent back to the manufacturer.

Can anyone lend me one of those naughty steps for a month or two ?

Such a lovely pen too!! Can you also be naughty and say the nib was broken like that when you opened the box? Really hope its fixable and not too expensive!!

I would love to lend you our naughty step but mine is in use again as of today! Apparently it was a bit cold outside for Jagger this morning so he was idle and decided tormenting Hendrix was the way ahead. Just as I was trying to leave for work. And I know what will happen when I get home as Jagger always goes slightly bonkers when I get home and again, starts to torment Hendrix. Such as shame as they've been perfect over Christmas, playing together really well, no fights, its been really lovely! I guess some of it may be that he sensed the work routine had returned and wasn't happy about it...

These Bengals, eh? They are such naughty but loveable little toe rags!!!

What is a naughty step?

I have to hide all my pens. Blondie steals them right away. I use a pen tool instead of a mouse so it is quite upsetting when that goes missing.

Must be some British slang! The only thing I've had come up missing was a tube of mascara that Raiden knocked behind my make up table. He doesn't steal anything -- thankfully! Honestly, he is really a good kitty except when howling for his walks and he knows he has to wait another two hours! The howling drives me batty, but it's only twice a day! LOL. Sorry about your pen, Cranberry! Unless there are teeth marks as evidence, you might want to tell them it was that way when you opened it! If there is evidence that a cat was involved, I'm afraid you are out of luck. Sorry!

Oh dear .......... I think here we call it just "time out." LOL. And you know that five minutes would not be long enough for a cat!

LOL Blondie would take up residence on the naughty step! when she wants attention or food she clears all counters and tables and then plays with the objects on the floor. She knocks my mail off the counter every day! Grace never does those things, but she does chew the furniture... What are you going to do? I just spent a week with them and they are such good company! I just adore them.

I don't know why, but looking at that pen reminds me of the pen Prof Umbridge had Harry Potter use in book 5

As far as being naughty... ugh... this morning I was rushing out the door to go to work, and I had one of those giant coffees from Starbucks on my kitchen island counter. Gaga jumped up there, and knocked it over and SPLOOOOSH, that thing hit the floor top first and just exploded. Coffee everywhere. Omg what a mess.

Gaga didn't get her usual turkey treat this morning!

Oh no, Brian! That is the absolute worst mess as it goes 100 feet in every direction (well, maybe not that far), but it gets on walls, floor, cabinets. I hope you made Gaga clean up the mess.

I'm going to guess that Gaga at least *watched* Brian clear up the mess.

Yeah sure! Only if Gaga spilled a full cup of turkey on the floor would she attempt to help clean up the mess.

I think she scurried off when the cussing started BUT she got her full turkey ration this morning... all forgiven (on both sides)
