What a fun hour I have just had  I was doing my nieces nails for Christmas when my youngest shrieked "mum, there is mouse eating Oscar's biscuits" We all rushed out to see this spectacle for ourselves. Yes, there was a mouse perched on his biscuit bowl calmly having lunch and Oscar was out of it and snoring less than 10 feet away! With all our laughing, we woke Oscar up and he jumped down to see what all the noise was about..........

Chaos ensued. The mouse legged it, thank god it was fast. It darted into the hallway and yes..... up the Christmas tree. Hotly followed by Oscar! The tree, by some miracle stayed upright. The ornaments are another matter  By sheer luck the mouse jumped down, kind of abseiled the branches to the floor (very Mission Impossible) and we managed to trap him in a present box, and deposited him on the common. My eldest has lost only a little blood trying to control Oscar!

Throughout the whole escapade my sister and niece were doubled up laughing and no use at all!

So much for my chilled out calm Monday  Would have taken pics but I was a bit busy!

A mouse eating a bengal's food! That is one *stupid* mouse!! Oh man. I mean, he literally put himself into a bengal's food dish and rang the dinner bell  I hearby Christen him "Darwin". He didn't by chance have a really bad toupee did he?

It turns out my bengals are surprisingly kind of useless as actual hunters. They've seen mice scurrying around the garage, and they want to play with them, but they don't actually know what to do with them. Despite all our games with da'mouse where they pretend to be these great mouse hunters. Neytiri on the other hand... stone cold killer! The only problem is that she wants to bring them in the house before killing them.

Should be called Usain not Darwin

Drats -- no video? This would garner 5 million views on YouTube. I wish we all could have been there. What a debacle! Thankfully, no one was injured except the ornaments! My Raiden is no hunter either. He waits for the moles to pop up but is rarely fast enough to catch them. The other outdoor cat has brought many around -- live and dead. One was gigantic and managed to get away from BOTH cats standing right there. Neither would go after it, but it was the size of a kitten. Until we closed up the smaller openings in his enclosure, Raiden would bring in mice, baby squirrels and once a cardinal. All of the mice became dead mice. The squirrels and cardinal were rescued.

Hey, at least a little excitement in your life.

Oh my! I can picture the whole escapade from your post! I can just imagine what my two lunatics would do if a mouse came in the house! It would be like a toy coming to life!
