In the last couple of weeks Pearl has started to wake us up at ridiculous times of the morning (2/3 am), she doesn't want food she just seems to want to play.
She's always been a LiveWire but she seems so hyperactive all the time and hardly ever sleeps.
It gets to the point I have to get up and bring her downstairs, then I end up sleeping on the sofa as she's bouncing off the walls.
It doesn't how much we play she never tires out, she does everything at turbo speed and more, lately she is getting worse, every time I solve one problem she makes another.
She is the 3rd bengal I've had and I've never known one like her, even my friend who has 8 has never seen one as lively as her.
She is like one of these children who thrives on practically no sleep and are on the go all the time.
I don't know what else to try, I've changed play times, feeding times, all sorts.
Any body got any ideas please

Sounds like Jagger. Hendrix will sleep through the night, but not Jagger. He won't wake me up now until 6am though and he's up long before that as I do hear him having a snack, playing with toys etc.

The only thing you can do is ignore her. Do not get up as you are reinforcing the behaviour by giving her the desired reaction. I used to literally shut my bedroom door, and even though he would be at the door scratching, it was marginally better than having him sweeping anything and everything off the chest of drawers or attacking my feet.

If he starts wailing earlier than 6am I also ignore him and I don't get up until he's been quiet for a bit so he doesn't think I'm getting up as a reaction to his wailing for attention.

I can now leave the bedroom door open all night, I don't think I'll ever get him to be quiet until after 6am (although my target is 6.30am) but 6am is better than some of the times he used to try to get me up to play or get food etc. I always leave dry out for him at night otherwise that is another trigger for him to try to get me up.

Have to laugh though as last night his slumber was disturbed by Jon coming home at 1am and he was back in the cat tree for a nap before I left for work he can dish it out but doesn't like being woken up by either of us!!!

My Serafina is a turbo-kitty like Pearl, but she eventually learned that night time is for sleeping. Once you train them, it does get a lot better. It may be that you need to put a couple of doors between her and you for awhile if it's affecting your sleep. But you have to reach a place where you don't get up no matter what she is doing. Another thing to keep in the back of your mind, is that there are some illnesses that cause abnormally high activity levels. It might be something to discuss with the vet next time you see him.

One other thing that I think has helped (and continues to help) Serafina is her wheel. Many times, throughout the day, she'll take a quick jog on the wheel to burn off some excess energy. One or two minutes at a time often, but you can just see her getting wound up, and then burning it off. You're mileage may vary of course.

Thanks for the info, I am actually due to visit the vets in a couple of weeks for vaccinations, so if things haven't improved I will have a chat with them about it.

I changed things around a bit last night, we had a late play session around 11pm, then food time later instead of food time earlier, she then ate that had a wash and fell asleep.

I waited until midnight until she was sound asleep then I went to bed, it was actually Magic that woke us this morning at 5am which in turn woke Pearl, but that is fine as hubby gets up for work anywhere between 5 - 5.15am.

Going to try to keep this up and maybe it will get her into a routine.

She really is hyper though.

Cats do like routine and you're trying to change hers -- for the better! Raiden would always wake me up between 2 and 4 a.m. And during the summer when it gets light out at 5 a.m., he was up and rearing to go. Thankfully, it is winter time and he goes to bed at dark. Sleeps a little, gets up, plays, sleeps a little, and when we go to bed, he's out for the night. He will even come back to bed after my husband goes to work and lets me sleep! I enjoy it this time of year because it will end come March! I hope you get Pearl settled. All bengals are different.

Hey, today I just got a new monitor. Although everything seems to be working just fine, but for some reason, whenever I try to open GTA: SA manually, or through SA-MP, it doesnt work. It doesnt even react. Since my old monitor screen was square-like, and new one is widescreen, I think I have to change game video options, but how do I do that, if I cant even open it? If anyone has ever come across this problem, I could really use some advice
