Hello: I'm interested in hearing and reading other Bengal cat owners experience with the temperature of the drinking water for their feline(s).
I find that the bowl of drinking water, either fountain or stationary, gets rather cold very fast when sitting on the kitchen floor. For example cats like cool water during the warmer months and somewhat like room temperature during the colder months.
My issue is that my water doesn't sit very long on the floor before it becomes quite cold and I think just too cold for my Bengal to drink. That said I find myself constantly emptying the fountain bowl or the stationary bowl of water out and changing it.
Does anyone else experience this issue and if so does anyone have any suggestions?
Is it perhaps because the bowl sits on the floor and would raising it up off the floor make a difference?
Appreciate any feedback pertaining to the cats drinking water as it relates to the temperature.

Not in Florida! It is always room temp which in my house is between 78-81 half the year and in the low 70s in the winter. My cats drink a lot of water, they always have. Even more so since I got my Kickstarter reward CU bowl. That's the copper bowl that never gets slimy. I have been meaning to ask if anyone else has one. My cats love their water even more now!

Oh and I also put their water bowl on one of those thirsty mats from Lands End. That might be a solution for you if the floor is too cold.

Are you sure its the temperature thats a factor for not drinking? one of my Bengals will only drink from a running tap and not a stationary bowl. When I say running tap I mean that the water only trickles out but just enough to lap-up and drink.

If only they did a non slime fountain as my two only like running water now

My boy Magic drinks from his water fountain but my girl Pearl will only drink from the cold tap running, she will sit next to it and ask for it to be put on.

I don't think the temperature of the water matters as its ice cold from the tap and room temperature in the fountain.

Raiden's water sits at room temperature. He drinks it just fine. For me personally, I have to have ice cold water in order to enjoy water.

I have yet to hear from anyone who's water, whether in a stationary bowl or a fountain, gets rather cold in a hurry when sitting on the floor. As I mentioned at the outset, when I first fill the bowl or fountain and set it down, it's amazing how much the temperature of the water has dropped within forty-five minutes to an hour as evidenced when I stick my finger in it to test it.

Water doesn't normally get cold on its own in a stationary bowl, its more likely due to other factors like where you live, is there a draft near the bowl, air conditioning etc, type of bowl, what it's made of etc.

I'm in the uk and yes in winter water can get colder (in the summer it often gets warmer) if on the hard kitchen floor but that's due to where the bowl is, on a hard floor in winter where there's a back door that's sometimes open. Remember that warm air rises and if you have the bowl directly on a cold floor it will get cold. Try putting the bowl in a warmer room on a silicone mat, although most animals prefer colder water anyway. Also yes fountains usually keep water cooler than a standard bowl because it's running water but for it to be freezing cold it's most likely environmental factors at play.
