Wow the vet really did go crazy with the clippers poor Pearl. When I picked Arya up I actually wished they clipped less off Arya as she's only just started to have her coat clearing and now she has this big rectangle lol.

She's eaten her dinner now and she's now back to normal and I have to keep trying to stop her from bombing around with Griff, he's really missed his little sister.

You won't be able to stop her, I gave up in the end and let them both run round as usual, my theory was if it hurts she will stop.

You are lucky Griffith isn't aggressive towards her, I found after she had been at the vets she smelt funny and Magic didn't recognise her, he kept growling at her, I had to get a t shirt that I had been wearing and rub my scent on both of them and then on each other, this took a couple of days before he was OK with her again.

Her fur will soon grow back but it will probably be a little lighter in colour, they asked me at the vets if Pearl was a show cat because if she was they would do the operation on the underside of her belly so the fur wouldn't show if it was lighter.
Apparently this is a bit of a bigger operation so they prefer the side.

At least you got Arya done before her first season, I wasn't so lucky as Pearl had hers early and I had to put up with the calling for a week, I have never know such a racket.

The first thing Griff did was rush over and try to start cleaning her, lol I do wonder if he recognises her anyway cos she's so noisy and it's hard to mistake her meow.

I'm hoping it doesn't effect Arya's coat too much as she has her first show in January so I'm hoping it grows back in ok, although I didn't want to make the surgery anymore complex just over her coat just because of her size. She's not super tiny anymore but she's still not much over 2kg. I was really praying when I booked her spay that she wouldn't come into season thankfully she didn't as Griff is still having testosterone marking issues eventhough he's been neutered, I think he hit sexual maturity early and even though I neutered him at 4 1/2 months he was already acting like an intact male although he didn't stay marking until after his neuter. I'm hoping now Arya is spayed it will calm down as he won't be stating his claim to her anymore.

They're asleep under the bed cuddling atm I see it as I was super lucky with my two and how close they are the each other. I don't think they could get on any better than they do. I'm just happy she's stopped trying to jump around now, running isn't as huge an issue as the jumping.

Baby girl is feeling it a bit this morning but she has been playing with Griffith earlier this morning and last night. I missed her so much yesterday so it's nice to have my little cuddly glitterbug back my lap feels strange without her these days lol

Vet check up today with Arya and I took Griff along to be weighed. She's now 2.1kg (the vet thinks there's a high chance she'll be around 3.5-4kg full grown) and her stitches have all healed up so the vet thinks the scar is healing well and she's looking really good. Still have to keep her inside for a few more days as she's not meant to use the garden and considering Arya likes to climb trees it's probably a good idea she's inside lol.

Griff had his weigh in today and he's 3.5kg and he's really starting to muscle up I'm so relieved he's growing so well and with all his tummy issues I was scared he wouldn't reach his full size, but I think there's a chance he'll still end up 7kg+ When he's full grown at 2 he's really starting to bulk up again.

The vet and vet nurses couldn't stop commenting on what beautiful and friendly cats they are. I think Arya is everyone's favourite down there cos she's so small and cute and always purring away I've never known such a happy cat. Considering all the horror stories the vets have told us about bengals that have come in I see my two (and Mina before them) as ambassadors for what well adjusted, bred and handled bengals should be like.

Raiden's vet sees a lot of bengals and many are not as well behaved as Raiden is. Happy to hear Arya is gaining weight and the spay recovery has gone well. Griff is going to be a big boy! So glad he's a great older brother to Arya.

Do you know Sarah my vet has said the same, everytime I've took Magic in they comment on how good natured he is, they say most bengals they see are bad tempered, they used to say the same about Frosty and I'm sure Pearl will be the same as she only went to be spayed she hasn't had many visits.

Magic is just over 17 pounds and when I took him in May for his booster the vet told me he was overweight, I said he is a bengal they are bigger, she told me she had a female bengal so she knew about bengals, I did explain how big his dad was but she still said he was overweight, I'm not so sure, he is a big boy but I wouldn't say fat.

Pearl weighs 8 pounds but only being a year old I expect she may get a bit bigger, she is long bodied with long legs.

I still think it's how the breeders treat them while they are young that helps to make them well adjusted kittens and then how we as guardians treat them after that makes them as friendly as they are.

I think it's just this weird preconception that people have that because they're a hybrid breed they have to be either feral or so shy they don't like people, as long as they're well socialised I've never met a mean tempted Bengal, they can be very mischievous and curious but never nasty. I think it's just the idea of wild blood that freaks people out and automatically puts them on edge and the cats pick up on that.

Those extra weeks at the breeders make all the difference I think as to how well adjusted they are as I would suspect a lot of the difficult ones probably came from people who sent them home early and the new owners just treated them like DSH kittens. Bengals take a lot more work to get them to trust new people even if they are well handled as kittens.

Pearl should be in the filling out stage now if she's still all legs so you could be surprised how big she ends up.

I think unless you've had a male Bengal as well as a female you can't really see the diffences as well. Griff is a very different cat to both my girls, he's a lot more sensitive and very muscular. It actually says in the Bengal breed standard that male bengals have a lot more muscle. It's also not abnormal for males to be over 20lbs so I wouldn't worry too much muscles weighs a lot more than fat so as long as he's long and lean it would just be muscle and Magic is in his prime so he's going to be at his biggest. Male bengals are often almost twice the size of a female and if their dad is large they can end up large as well. I didn't meet Griff's dad Jake but he is also the father of Magnus Arya'a dad and I met and cuddled him for a while lol and he was a big boy.

He looks fine to me, as long as you can feel it's just a good covering and you can feel his muscles and some of his ribs when you feeling through his coat he's fine. Pearl is a little cutie as always.

Griff is really looking ripped now he's my shy, sensitive, baby blue eyed beefcake lol I wonder if he would be classed as a kitty hunk lol. Arya on the other hand is more tubby lol I think she's due another growth spurt.

They are both gorgeous :wink1:

You can tell the weather is changing, Magic has started sleeping on the bed with us again and in the middle of the night he cuddles right up almost under my chin so I have to put my arm around him and then we sleep, when he gets too hot he moves down and sleep between hubby's ankles.

Pearl only sleeps on the bed occasionally but she wakes us up at around 5 am as she knows hubby gets up at around 5.15, she stands on his chest and makes perty noises at him, he says it's really sweet.

She walks around the house at night when we are in bed making the same perty noises, hubby calls them trumpet noises, she does it to Magic all the time.

I admit I do feel like a very proud mummy when I look at them both and see how happy, healthy and big they both are now. They haven't been the easiest kittens but I do like a challenge.

Griff is always asleep on the bed with me now it started up over the past couple of weeks since his tummy has been feeling better, I think cos I fixed him it's made him trust me so much more Arya is either sleep on my other side on the pillow or in her little cubby hole that I have next to the bed.

They are really loving the autumn weather with all the leaves in the garden and climbing the trees I always feel there's something in the air this time of year plus I've noticed their coats are getting a lot thicker and their rosettes are darkening more rapidly although that may not be weather related. They do like to bring sticks and leaves that they find in the garden in with them lol, thankfully no animals have been caught thank god.

I tend to sit outside in my jumper and just sketch whilst they bomb around the garden and play so it's quite relaxing and my dog sits next to me.

I have to admit I am a bit worried about how my two are going to be with the xmas tree as it's their first xmas lol I have a feeling Arya will be up the tree and Griff will be stealing baubles and both will be playing in all the wrapping paper and boxes. I really don't know what to get them both as they are so spoiled that they already have so many toys lol. I might have a look for something with lights for Griff as he has a thing about watching my toothbrush charging lol.
