I have this lovely and handsome mini panther called Aatami (Adam in english), every time when I go outside with him, someone asks what breed he is and a friend of mine saw a picture and asked if he is a bengal cat.

I bought him whwn he was 12 weeks old, I was told that his sire was brown with a little bit black and his dam was black.

His temperament is extremely sweet an affectionate and he is very active and sometimes noisy.

So, what do you think?

Looks like a black domestic short hair(moggie) to me as kittens black cats can often have dark tabby markings so look brown in places which fade with time and they go all black.

If you are wondering if he has glitter Bengal glitter is more like flecks or gold of fairy dust over the coat because it's actually clear hairs which reflect light and it reacts with the colour underneath it's not just a super shiny healthy coat. Also DSH and moggies can have their own form of glitter though their coats and not all bengals have glitter either. It's very distinctive and they literally sparkle as opposed to it being a sheen. They also have a different coat texture if glittered it feels closer to velvet it's very dense and plush to the touch and super soft.

He's a beautiful cat with a very healthy coat but I can't see Bengal myself that said Bengal crosses are impossible to tell anyway unless you know one of the parents is 100% a papered Bengal and bengals are descended from a lot of tabby pedigree and non pedigree cats not just Asian leopard cats. The only features from ALC really in bengals are huge paws, rosettes, non symmetrical markings and some have larger nocturnal eyes.

Black cats rock, but no, there really isn't any reason to suspect that he's a bengal. He doesn't look anything like a bengal, and black (melanistic bengals) wouldn't have a white bib, plus you'd likely be able to just make out some of the underlying markings (marble or spotted), and your description of his behavior also doesn't sound anything like a bengal.

Definitely not a bengal imo. sorry.

Black bengals are called melanistic and you can see their stripes and rosettes through the black pelt. Your kitty appears to be a stunning black domestic short-haired cat.
