Some of you will remember me telling you that my Bengal girl Amara (who is living with my Mom) had a litter of Bengal cross kittens eight weeks ago. Out of eight kittens, only six survived and the smallest my partner has fell in love with and he doesn't even like cats. She was nicknamed Thumberlina/Lena but we are debating to change it from Lena to something else but not sure what though. She is a grey spotted tabby and is ickle stunner.

I have uploaded a picture of her Mum (Amara) and the other three are of "Lena" taking today the same hour she has moved in with us. We are gonna trial her till the weekend and to see if we are confident to let her leave her mother and siblings full time.

Awww so cute, really glad it all went well with the kittens and I can see why your BF wanted to keep her she's adorable.

I'm guessing you had no issues finding homes for all of the other kittens as well as they where all so cute.

Eight weeks is a little soon ... I hate to say it! Give her a few more weeks with Amara. Just know that now Amara needs to be spayed and the new kitty will as well. Do NOT trust that Lena will never get out! You've been there, done that, got the T-shirt!

The babies are just adorable. I guess Amara is going to stay with your mom -- but I question why your partner wanted to keep one of the kittens considering this person is the reason Amara is no longer living with you. I'd step back a little if I were you. Yes, kittens are cute, but they grow up and become adult cats and doubt your mom would want another cat living with her.

Please, please, please get Amara fixed before you mom opens the door and lets her back out into the outside world.

Do you think I should take her back and wait another week or two? She does seem ok and confident but if someone more experienced thinks longer then I will take that advice. Her brothers and sisters haven't went to their homes yet. I was just going to trial Lena as I knew without a doubt I would take her back to Amara if I didn't think she was ready.

yeah the vet said Amara would be able to come in once all kittens are gone and she is no longer feeding them and Lena will be booked in ASAP

She will learn things in those two weeks that will make her a better adjusted kitty.

I noticed in your photos that her litter box is right next to her food and water. You should separate the litter box from the feeding area. I have their boxes in a different room from where they eat. I also have a little separation between the food and water, just a couple of feet.

Good catch, Jill! I agree the litter box and food need to be in separate areas! The dust from the litter can infiltrate the food and water. Just a suggestion!!!

Definitely ... kittens do better at 12 weeks than 8 weeks. Even though the kittens will be eating their own food. Hopefully, your mom won't mind the extra time. The new owners will appreciate a more socialized kitty as well.

Sorry I haven't been on for a while... thought I would update you all

The kitten that me and my partner planned to have, sadly didn't settle in. We sent her back to my Mam's till she reached 12 weeks but my partner's dog went for her on her second day of living here! As I didn't want to take the risk we decided it was best to give her the best start in life and let her go. Luckily my Mam wanted her for herself and she is keeping Amara fulltime.

My brother is taking one of the marble boys, My sister and her kids are taking the other marble boy and a good friend took the third boy who was a spotted tabby. He has settled into his home amazingly!

The other two girls who have had viewings but either people pulled out at last minute or I got a bad vibe from those who came to view and I lied by pretending they had been taking. My sister's friend has said she might consider taking one. I don't plan to just hand them over to just anyone and my Mam has agreed to hold onto them aslong as possible while we find them homes.

Guess this should serve as a warning to those who want breed cross Bengals though... unlike purebreds it is much harder to secure them homes and you may be stuck with a whole litter that nobody wants!

What sweet babies! It is very hard to find good homes for kittens or puppies
