My 6.5mth old male Bengal is 11lbs!! He does not seem fat.
Is this normal?? Will he just be a big cat? Lol. He has not been neutered
Yet. Trying to hold off until 9 months.

Yea, that is pretty normal for a male bengal. And he looks real good and healthy. You're probably looking at, at least a 15lb cat when he's an adult. Male bengals tend to be very large cats!

You're pushing your luck. He could start spraying and caterwalling and all that at any time now, and when that starts good luck getting cat pee out of the furniture and rug and bedding etc. That's a downward spiral I would want to avoid if I were you.

Yeah the spraying scares me. I'm afraid he will not grow much more after neutering. Is this true?

If that was true, mine would be tiny lol. Both were neutered before they came to us at 14 weeks and are now somewhere between 13-14 pounds each. Get your boy booked in ASAP. You really don't want the spraying etc!

I didn't get my boy neutered until he was 8 months old, he is 4 years old and weighs 17 pounds, he's a big boy.

He is a beautiful cat and looks perfectly formed to me -- no weight issues there. It is a myth about neutering. Mine was neutered at 12 weeks and weighs about 13 pounds. You are far better off getting him fixed at this stage instead of waiting. The sooner the better -- for him and for you. He's already a big boy -- and will probably get even bigger.

Just know that early neutering has not stopped mine from spraying. He limits it mainly to the outdoors when we go on our walks, but he has sprayed in the house a few times. You really don't want that -- but it's normal behavior for a cats, so if it happens, it happens.

He's a great looking cat. Personally I would get him neutered now. Once spraying becomes a habit, neutering may not stop it. I think size can be attributed to genetics and a good diet. I have never heard neutering stunts their growth. I have a female that is the size of a male cat, and I could tell when she was a kitten that she was going to be very large. She was spayed before 4 months.

For all that got theirs neutered, did they continue to spray as well?

Mine were neutered very young as I said and have never sprayed indoors to date. It is only in the last few months I've seen them spray outside and they have just turned three.

Clare, do you think that is because of the foxes? I have seen a cat and raccoons outside my patio at night and I am always afraid Grace will start spraying because she is so territorial. She has been hissing and attacking Blondie a lot lately. Every night I have to break it up it seems like.

Thank you all for your opinions and helpful advice. I have officially made the decision not to wait any longer for neutering. Tyson is booked for September 9th. Wish me luck...or more so, wish him luck, my little guy

Nah, you (and he) will be fine. Try not to stress over it. We'd like to know more about him though! And more pictures :)

If he's anything like Diesel you won't even know he's had it done. Diesel didn't slow down one bit

Personally I never had a problem with Magic spraying even though I left it a bit later.

He will be fine after he has had it done, Magic didn't even seem to notice that something was missing.
