Beckley, my commiserations on the loss of your daughter.

Taking on one bengal under these circumstances must be tough. Do you already have any experience with cats in general and bengals in particular ?

Being a year old might make it easier to bring a second bengal into the house than it would be if he were older and in a long established territory, though adding a second cat needs to be done carefully, with the new cat given a room to itself and the cats slowly introduced over a 2 week period. Your current bengal might become aggressive to a new cat that it considers is trying to take over his territory.

I am truly sorry at the loss of your daughter.

How wonderful for you to rescue her kitty and provide a great home. I agree that introducing a second cat would be best now. There are many great bengal breeders in the UK. You may want to look for an older kitty through a rescue. I'm sure Beckley is familiar with you through your daughter, so he's probably settling in pretty well. He is pretty young still and would probably accept another kitty cat. You can always get a moggie but another bengal will have the energy and stamina to keep up with Beckley.

We have many UK members here. If you need a recommendation for a breeder in your area, they may be able to help you out.
