quarantine

Im seriously considering emigrating right now due to the political situation within the NHS (not sure how much you guys from outside the UK will know about that, but the health secretary is making very it difficult to want stay!)....but I would have to keep Spider and Maasai in quarantine for 30 days. I would have very reasonable access to them and be able to sit and play with them for several hours each day, which to be honest is similar to when we recently moved house and I put them in a 'safe' room.....but I still worry. Have any of you guys ever had to use quarantine? If so, how were your little beasts affected?

Well Australia is where I want to go unfortunately!! Its almost a no brainer. more money for less hours. And its sunny! And I have run out of steam with the NHS. Both of my two are ok with changing circumstamces, but 30 days seems like such a long time. Im just hoping if I get to see them each day and let them know that I havent forgotten them then it will be ok x

Sometimes you have to do what's best for you and your babies. To me, 30 days goes by really fast, but in your situation it may be different. The fact that you can visit them is wonderful. You need to take them with you -- so if that's what it takes, that's what it takes. Go for your dream. Good luck.

I did wonder if it was Aussie considering you where talking about Quarantine and most places have got rid of it these days as long as you have a pet passport and the needed paperwork and inoculations. I think a lot of it will be down to how you think your two would cope, its better to think of it like a boarding Cattery where they stay for a month but you can visit. The other issue will be the very long flight from the UK to Aussie.

The beauty is they are best friends so i think they will be ok on the flight. What are the conditions like in quarantine? Even the word sounds harsh!

I work in the NHS though, and it is pretty well understood that theres a much better work life balance down under than we get here!

I'm guessing quarantine is that they are put in a separate area -- it's just like boarding an animal. Will both of your babies be in the same cage? You'd hate to have them separated as they need to have each other. The flight -- yes, it will be extremely long. And they basically have no idea what is happening, so it's extra scary for them.

Ive just seen this Sherry, been so busy with work Ive not been on here in a while, Australia is looking like a very real prospect now, but yeah I think they would be in the same area together. If not, I actually wouldnt go. It would be horrendously traumatic for them x

I wish you luck! It's not easy moving halfway across the world, especially with two bengals, but it has been done. Hope all goes well for you.
