Does anyone else's bengal shed 53 weeks of the year ?

Babbage is fine, but Ada, who has a lovely soft coat of really fine hair, sheds constantly - she really could do with being hoovered twice a day*

Does anyone else have a bengal that sheds a lot ?

Yes Magic has always shed all year round, I bought a special comb to get out all the loose fur, whereas Pearl seems to have a different type of coat and hardly loses any.

My curtains and most material things always seem to have Magic's fur on it.

Raiden only sheds in the spring/early summer and not very much! I don't get much on the comb when I comb him. The moggie I'm feeding is still shedding. I fill up the wire brush with three strokes.

If I run wet hands over them, I will pull out some fur. I brush Grace often and fur comes out in the brushes. She begs for the brush several times a day. Blondie is too sensitive for a brush and doesn't seem to shed. in general there is not fur around the house that I can see, but when I vacuum there is fur in the filter. They just had their annual shots and the vet commented on their beautiful coats. They are 3 years old now. Time flies.

Neither of mine shed much. In fact I can pet them or brush them or comb them and very little fur comes free. If I go and look at their favorite sleeping places there will be a very small layer of cat hair on it, but you'd have to look to find it. But it's no doubt dependent on temperature/climate right? It's a pretty cool climate in Oregon, plus they live in air conditioned bliss in the summer.

I've only had my Bengals since September 2015 and compared to previous general moggies I've had the pleasure of to know I would say that my girls don't shed that much. They do love me stroking their fur with my lint roller and it's only when I do this that I notice they do seem to have quite a bit shed during these summer months.

Oscar sheds quite a lot. I brush him with a kind of glove with little rubber bumps on it. This is the only brush that does not immediately cause him to think 'game on' and attack! :rolleyes:

I use a double sided comb, one Side detangles any fur then it flips over and the fine side rakes out all the loose fur, I'm not sure what it's called as I bought it a while ago at a country fair.

Merlin seems to shed for all the Bengals that don't! I am sometimes amazed he isn't bald, the amount I can comb from him, and then even more comes out when I stroke him. He is a hair production factory... I've never known a cat to shed so much, yet his coat is shiny, has glitter, is thick / full and not even remotely moth eaten....?!?!?

He must be a freak!...................But he's MY freak! :celebrate:
