Cat lead recomendations

Hey Everyone,

I've got Arya and Griffith Mynwood cat jackets so I can start lead training them but I'm not sure which leads to get for them. Anyone got any recomendations for retractible leads or brands that I could get for them? I'm in the UK if that helps for links.

I just bought the normal extendable dog lead so you can let it out long when you want them to have a little run but can also reel it back in when needed.

I use a 10' retractable cord lead for Raiden. It's rated for 18 pounds. They make them much longer, but it's a lot harder to reel them in if he's 40' away from me and getting into trouble. The brand I have is Flexi and I love the "brake" system it has and will even lock for a shorter lead. The cord did get frailed on the first one, so after three years, I had to get a second one, which cost me less than $10.

I don't know that you will be able to walk the two of them together. Cats do not walk like dogs. They have their own mission and will stop and smell everything or just lay down to rest -- but probably not even in the same area. One will want to go one way and the other will head the opposite direction. Hopefully, you can have someone with each cat! I have a very hard time with Raiden and if I had two of him, there would be no walks! Impossible!!!

Thanks for the info, I will only be walking them when my partner, mum or one of my friends is around to take one of them as I would be a bit worried walking around with two pretty kittens on my own, if there was an emergency I would have an issue with being about to hold both.

Thankfully I also have access to a large secured garden atm so they do have that to play around in but I wanted to try and lead train them for the future just incase at some point I don't have a garden for them to play in.

It is always good to have them used to a harness and lead anyway. I would never travel without having a harness on a cat while it is in the carrier. I know mine would bolt and I'd lose him. Walks are great with cats, unless it's 100 (or 10) degrees out. Raiden just wants to lay down on the grass. I carry a large towel with me so I have something to sit or lay on. Our morning walks are better as he will walk on the asphalt and we walk about 6 blocks (3 up and 3 back), which takes about an hour. Happy to hear you will always have one person for each cat. I swear, they can jump up on trees in a split second and get tangled under a shrub in no time flat. You turn your eyes away and something has happened.
