So my last post was about how much of a nightmare my two had been recently, they were driving me to drink! But over the last week I have finally given them total freedom of the apartment. They can now sleep where they want, I dont put them in their room anymore, and I have opened up my bedroom to them. I am amazed at the difference! They literally are sleeping like 16 hours a day! Dont get me wrong they are still a couple of terrors for a couple of hours each day, but the rest of the time they are just so chilled! I can handle 2 hours, but I was never expecting this! I love it!

My two cats don't like closed doors at all. They become obsessed over what is in there. At night they have free range roam the house. Blondie usually sleeps by my head just like she did when she was a baby kitten. Grace moves around occasionally sleeping at the foot of my bed but usually elsewhere. She comes in and wants me to pet her and if I get up she wants me to open the door so they can go out on the patio in the dark. I think the moon was full last night and they had fun out there.

My two can open the doors in my place, so even when I used to shut them in/out of anywhere it never lasted. And they make so much noise opening the door that it stopped being worth it! I used to think that if I let them in my room while I was sleeping then they would be a total nightmare, keeping me awake, but they just go to sleep on my bed. They are still there when I wake up too. Its so much easier

They're lulling you into a false sense of security

Just when you think you've got it nailed will reappear!

What a LOL thread!!! Raiden has always had free roam of our entire house. I do keep one bathroom closed off to him as he loves to lick the shower curtain in there. Toilet lids are down so he's not dipping his paw in them to lick the water off. He can open any door that opens IN. He sleeps at my feet at night. He can usually be found in the same room I'm in (like right now in the bonus room). However, open doors do not calm him down. He is pretty chilled during the day, but at night, from 5 p.m. to bedtime, he is a holy terror. I play with him several times, he gets on his cat wheel, he runs in and out of his enclosure a few dozen times. Doesn't wear him out until he finally just collapses on a chair or one of his cat beds and goes to sleep for an hour. He is truly a toddler in disguise!

It is warm where I am Cranberry yeah. And they are loving sitting in the window. I am praying this calm isnt seasonal though, they have become so much more manageable!

Its always the evening that they do go crazy Sherry though, just like Raiden! Although their worst is later, maybe 9-11 o clock when they just wont stop moving and wreaking a bit of havoc! Honestly though at this point I am so happy for them to rage against the machine for those coupla hours, cos then they just go back to sleep!

With warmer days my 2 have shifted their activities to later in the evening - where normally they'd start with me coming home at 7 they sometimes don't kick off until 10 or 11, which is Night-nights time.

Mine have always kicked off late in the evening. It was all good when I was studying but Im back to work now and I think its gunna get old really fast! But still, 2 hours is awesome!

Right now im all good loving it! Lol

Just as an update.....I left them overnight to go and meet an old friend the other day. They took making a mess to a whole new level! i couldnt believe my eyes when I got back. Apparently this new chilled out attitude doesnt extend to being unsupervised!

That was clearly your punishment for having the audacity to leave them overnight!

I think youre right. I will be forced to think twice before making the same mistake again. It took me a good couple of hours to get things back to normal!

Who would leave their bengals by themselves overnight to absolutely destroy everything in sight??? You know better.
