I'm not saying that it would work for every man, but in general think of shiny new tools as our flowers and jewelry. :-)

Apparently the best present I've ever bought Jon is a leatherman multi tool, he loves it, so yes, that is all it takes

I haven't been keeping up to date with this forum recently, but a few months ago I was in a exact same situation.

I think my thread is still here if you scroll down, called "I'm going to loose her...". People offered some great advice there.

I know how you're feeling and how this can tear you apart, cause arguments, wants you want to grab the cats and flee, but you really have to try to talk to him and win yourself some time. They're only kittens, but they'll grow older and change. Katniss is nearly 10 months now and she is a different cat to what she used to be. She still attacks feet and bites and is still quite loud, but compared to what she used to be, she has calmed down a lot and she is still only young.

I wouldn't recommend what I did, as its quite a risk. I told my partner just to go ahead and rehome her, but I'm not having anything to do with it. Through to a mutual friend, Dan found a vet who said she will take her. But this process has now been delayed, because when it came to it, Dan didn't want to do it. Katniss is still here and they are getting on most of the time.

I'd say time is the key, it's a struggle and even my situation has not been 100% resolved yet, but if you get him to just wait it out, try to bond and play with the kittens, you should see some improvement.

Good luck!

How wonderful for you to come back here and update us on Katniss. I've thought about you so many times and wondered how things were going. I hope Ellie is okay. She was on here daily for several weeks asking a lot of questions about her babies. Rehoming is honestly a last resort! Most men are not truly cat people. I'm married to one of them. He tolerates the cats. Kittens do grow up to be adults, but bengals seem to have that "kitten energy" all their lives.

I hope Ellie comes back and updates us on the situation. I'm sure she's struggling with all the mixed emotions of being put in the middle. I just feel a relationship is about compromise. I'm sure the cats would not be in their household unless both agreed to get them. To me, it's like having a baby. You can't just give it back because it cries and you have to change a diaper every five minutes. My Raiden is like my grandson -- or he could even be my great grandson -- but no matter how crazy he may drive me, I love him and I tell him that every single day along with lots of tummy tickles and kisses.

Good morning, everyone.

This isn't Ellie, but Ellie's mum.

I'm afraid that things got to a head, and long story short, the kitties have moved homes and are now living with us. Ellie comes to visit when she can, which isn't easy due to the distance.

Having had the 2 mini psychopaths in the house for a few weeks now, I must say I can completely understand why the BF was going nuts! They really are crazy kitties, aren't they!

I'm just going to say they are happy as pigs in muck here. Our household is the complete opposite of Ellie's, messy, permanently lived in, always people in and out happy to play and give attention and affection, lots of nooks and crannies to hide in, jump out of and what not.

My main worry was the ageing pooch and how he would take to these bundles of endless energy, and whilst he has had this bemused look on his face for a while, he has been remarkably lenient, even when his tail gets attacked. One of the kitties really tries hard to snuggle to him, but I can't say he's too keen on it.

I'll try to keep up with forum here, but thought the most important thing was to let you all have this update. :)

No doubt I'll be asking questions too, I have had cats before, but these 2 are something else, lol.

Thanks Ellie's Mum, the description of (I assume) your husband as an aging pooch made me laugh enough to send my first post. I've been lurking here since I got my 2 monsters, Dreyfus & Kato who are just over 2 years old. I have noticed that they do eventually calm down so you may see an "improvement" in the next year or so! Anyway it seems that you've all found the best possible solution for Ellie, the BF & the kittens. I hope all goes well.

Brian

We so appreciate your coming on here and updating us. So sad that these kitties have had to leave their home, but sounds like they are doing wonderfully with you. As you can tell, Bengals are not like your ordinary cat. Hopefully you can learn to co-exist with them. My hubby and I are senior citizens and we have a 9 year old bengal that came to us 3 years ago. He is a bundle of energy and wears us both out. We love him to death, but he is a handful -- I can only imagine what it is like with TWO bengal kittens. I hope Ellie is able to visit as often as she can. Always difficult to part with our pets. I know she had to do what she had to do, but sad that it affected her human relationship the way it did.

We are here to answer any questions you may have. And THANK YOU for taking these babies into your home.
