Just got back from vacation

Well they have to voice their dissatisfaction with the disruption in their daily routine.

I decided my cats are just destructive. Yesterday Grace stood on her hind legs and treated my lovely leather sofa like a scratching post, and she totally ignored me when I yelled her name. They have so many scratching posts too. I am in the process of selling some of my patio furniture to make room for their outdoor cat tree arriving this week. Pretty soon their furniture will outnumber my furniture. And what I do have, will be eaten, chewed or clawed up. Somehow they are worth it though...

Jill, I know my boys think they own literally everything in our house. I guess your girls do to. I'm not sure mine are intentionally destructive and like you, they have soooooo many scratchers (and more furniture than us!) - and yet they still insist on scratching our best furniture or using it as an obstacle course to charge around on (grrrrrr!!) but I guess to them, that is there purely for their own enjoyment as well!!!

Still love them though!!

Leather and bengals dont mix! I will never make that mistake again after the mess they made of my last one. That being said I now have a brand new fabric sofa that they seem to have included in their range of scratching posts so not sure how long this is going to last either!

I just got rid of a microfiber sofa that Grace used to sleep on and claw at the arms. Her claw marks never showed and now she is clawing at the leather one, but it definitely shows on leather! I guess I should order some sticky paws to deter her. My house is definitely an obstacle course or race track. The other day Blondie was flying through the air in the living room and she landed on the leather ottoman, hydroplaned across the surface and put her paw up on the fast approaching end table to stop her motion. It was priceless and so graceful.

Yeah Im hoping I will get away with the scratching not being tooooo obvious on this one. Its a big corner one though, and Spider has taken to getting half in and half out of it underneath and then clawing his way all the way around it like hes on an assault course! It would be funny if it wasnt brand new. Rascals these bengals are!

The day after I had moved, so before I had got into a new routine with bengal proofing before bed in the new place, I woke up to a four pack of toilet rolls strewn across the whole apartment Brian (and I had no more in the house!) what is the fascination with them?!

I feel so fortunate that Raiden is not destructive and does not scratch the furniture, including the leather recliners we have.

Brian, you truly have "terrors." LOL. They were obviously bored and missed you terribly! While the cat's away, the mice will play.

Ive not tried sticky paws really because I didnt expect it to work. I may give it a go now though if for nothing else than for this look on their face you are talking about!!

My last sofa was covered in scratches from Tabitha and Lennon but a friend of mine suggested I spray my new sofa with Citrus Magic, it smells nice of oranges. So I got some and sprayed the new sofa and Tabitha and Lennon recoil at the smell of it. So it certainly is magic as they haven't attempted to scratch the new sofa!! It's a bit expensive at £7.99 a can but worth it in my opinion.

A month ago we got a new kitten, Ringo, and he also recoils at the smell of it so it definitely works.

I am quite thankful neither of mine claw the furniture, Magic will scratch one place on the hall carpet next to the front door but that's not too bad, he also scratches the base of our bed at 3am to wake me up.
Pearl doesn't scratch anywhere but she is naughty in many other ways like climbing up my net curtains which are now full of little holes.

I tried sticky paws without success. Quasar enjoyed biting it and picking at it with his claws. :rolleyes:
