There was a sort of brown yellowy mess on the glass table when I came down.. At first I thought it was poop but it was all liquid and when I cleaned it up there were chunks of undefeated food etc in it so k ink its vomit. They both seem happy and healthy and bouncing around so could this simply be a random throw up? I've got my first vet appointment tonight anyway so I'll mention it then but just wondering if it's normal for cats to randomly throw up.. Could they just not like the food I've given them?

Some cats do throw up randomly, my Magic has always done it, his is yellowy watery stuff sometimes with abit of food in it or fur.

He will do it for a few days then he will not do it for weeks then do it again, I quite often find it on the spare bed or on the table.

It's nothing to worry about.

Raiden throws up randomly! Sometimes it's just yellow liquid, other times it has food chunks in it! Maybe he ate too fast. I don't know, but as long as the kitty is behaving normally otherwise -- one random vomiting session isn't much to worry about. It if continues a few times a day and your kitty begins acting lethargic, then it's time for a vet visit.

My last cat threw up so often as she had kidney failure for years. I was secretly glad to get two new young kittens that didn't have fur balls or bulimia. Now that they are over 2 years old there have been a couple of throw up incidents. Both times it was after eating lizards. Also I have heard the fur ball cough a couple of times (they nibble their belly fur off). When Blondie coughs, Grace pounces on her back! Kitty Heimlich maneuver perhaps? Cats are prone to vomit in my experience. Maybe it is because of their short digestive track. I have often wondered about it. Lizards are definitely not a good food source, I wish they would put 2 and 2 together. Maybe your kitty got into something?
