The diet you're giving your kitties sounds fine. Usually with any type of devastating disease, there are other signs such as no appetite, lethargic, losing weight, etc. TF is a common parasite in bengals and vets attempt to give medications that do not work! Debbie is correct -- only ronidazole works on TF. You may want to ask your vet about adding a probiotic to the food. However, until you actually get rid of the parasite that is causing the problem -- NOTHING ELSE IS GOING TO WORK. While I know the dripping stools are a concern to you, think about how your kitties feel. Think of how YOU feel when you have diarrhea. Imagine a cat going through this for weeks. If you can't get satisfaction from your vet, find another vet who will. One must have complete confidence in the doctor treating their cats and if the vet won't listen to or address your concerns and your kitties are not getting better, it's time to move on to a much better informed vet.

Update is, Orion's vet wants to see his WBC (high leukocytes) normalize, and diarrhea resolve before performing the surgery. We began supplementing Lysine for cats (natural immune booster) at his recommendation about a week ago, hopefully that will help him get a leg up on it. All his current symptoms are tied to the Coronavirus, so I guess we will ultimately be waiting until he kicks it before neutering.

We'll wait about a month, and then take him back to have the CBC checked at the vet.

Now the 13th of Dec. the cats prescription of met.. sp.? ran out and things were soft for a couple days, then formed up nice. Things appear to be good now. Good site with good info, in the event we get the runs again I will be referring to this for advice in what to test for. Thanks everyone for the advice..

we have been diagnosed today with coronavirus.
i am trying to stay calm and not to panic .
Further tests to be submitted over next 4 weeks for both of my cats.


What i currently do not understand is that i suspected Clive had some sort of bacteria/infection and was persistently submitting his samples over past 4 years twice a year, and only this year it came back with corona. How is this possible?!!

We are here for you Laurel. I am so very sorry to hear you are dealing with this. What has your vet recommended? There is a lot of good information online regarding this. Outcomes are usually not good. It's a horrible disease.

I also read only 1% mutate to FIP so I have everything crossed Clive is in the other 99%.

Yes I feel the same concerning the blood testing it really stresses me out its not nice to see him having to go through that he's only 10months old. Me and my husband have been talking about the neutering a lot and feel he needs to be neutered thankfully he's very clean but we all know once they spray it's hard if not impossible to stop it and we live in an area where there are lots of stray toms and females he is already starting to sense them so the neutering is the main problem if he was neutered I would not blood test him for fcov anymore unless he became unwell, the vets say they want to keep putting off the neutering due to the virus I feel they should have neutered him when his titre count was 160 which is very low and all his other blood results have been perfect I feel I'm in a catch 22 situation because if I neuter him and he gets fip we will blame ourselves but I know it's not good for him or us to leave him not neutered.
I'm sorry of your loss of your previous babies it's hard isn't it .
It's such a relief to be able to chat to someone who has gone through this fcov it's a great help
