We are adopting two beautiful Bengal kittens over the coming weeks, a boy named Simon and a girl called Holly. They are from the same cattery, but from two different litters, so they will have some time to live together before Holly comes home (the breeder keeps the kittens until they are 12 weeks old).

We have had cats before, but never kittens and never indoor only cats. These two will definitely stay inside as our last two cats died from outdoor-related accidents. They are currently on a raw food diet, and we plan on continuing with this when they move into our home. We are really excited, and will no doubt be using this forum to learn about life with Bengals :)

This is exactly the same situation I was in when I bought my 2 almost a year ago now. 2 kittens from different litters with the same breeder and my first time keeping cats indoors ( I also lost a beautiful ginger tom cat called Jupiter to a car accident). Will they be introduced before they come to you did you mean? My breeder luckily had mine together for a couple of weeks before they came to me, and it made the transition so much easier, so its great if they are. I cant tell you how much fun they have been since they got here. They are constantly making me laugh and they have changed so much over the last year. You are going to have such a good time I'm sure!

Thanks for the warm welcome! Our first of the kittens comes home tomorrow and I'm both very excited and nervous (we are fairly kitten-proofed, but I'm not quite sure what to expect). Our second one will come in about five weeks from now.

I'm very much looking forward to the new additions to our family :)

I'm a new Bengal owner and new to the site. We have had several cats over the years, but Bengal proofing your house is a little different than I have been use to in the past. One thing that I have never had to do is shorting the strings on mini blinds. I got out the knife and trim them all and got rid of loops. Didn't want to come home to a hung cat. Just a little advise I got from Barney's previous owner. Good luck and welcome

Bengals do require child proofing! They seem to find EVERYTHING and get into ANYTHING. I'm constantly finding Raiden in something that I didn't even know was there. They are super inquisitive kitties.

She's here and, boy, she is busy! She is very sweet and playful and fun - we are smitten.

It's hard to get a picture of her while she's awake (she moves faster than I can snap a pic), so here's a snoozing one.

She is beautiful. What I find amazing is you are on the east side of North America and I'm on the west side and I have 2 ten week old kittens that are identical.



As far as the nocturnal activity I would have her sleep in a large container or separate room until she adjusts to the hours of the household. I have my kids on a 4 hr morning play, then a 4-5 hr nap followed by more play. They go down in the early evening and sleep till 5-6AM. I start this routine at about 3.5-4 weeks and they have the habit by 8 weeks. Put themselves to bed, both morning and night.
