I woke up this morning with Serafina being really cuddily and purry. A nice way to wake up. Then after giving her plenty of attention, I got up and brought up the blinds in the bedroom. Serafina (and Neytiri) immediately jumped up on the window sill to look out. Just at that moment there was this huge bushy squirrel running along the top of the fence. Serafina saw it and froze, all tense. Her eyes got all big, and she let out this quiet little "double meow": that sounded exactly like: "oh oh"

Hahahaha, I wish I could have gotten that on video! Hilarious.

That's fun to see them get so excited over other creatures. I think there is a bird nesting in the hedge on one end of the deck. Blondie camped out there and refused to come in for breakfast this morning. I had to go out and coax her in when I was ready to leave for work. Of course by then Grace had happily eaten all the wet food.

Mine try to imitate birds' sounds. As they can't get to them they just sit down, watch them and listen and try to "answer" birds' cries with this funny chirping sound. So far, the birds haven't felt attracted  .

Diesel just chatters at the birds and any flying bugs that find their way into the house. I have a big fat moggie who used to try to imitate the birds when he was younger, I didn't know what it was until I caught him chirping at the screen door one day.

Diesel does sound like he's saying "NOOOO" when other people pick him up. He doesn't resist, he just sounds like he's saying "NOOOO" it's pretty funny

Gaga does that too, and in her case it's partially because she's afraid she'll be getting a pill. I try to counter-act that by making sure good things happen when she gets picked up too, but there may just be too many pillings to completely overcome that.

In her case it's more like: AWWWwwwwWWW!

If I pick Grace up she makes a loud sound like a siren. I guess it's some sort of warning system. I put her right down after I hug and kiss her!

Raiden chirps at the squirrels! They fascinate him more than the birds. If he sees another cat, he starts howling as loud as a wolf! You usually have your camera ready, Brian!!! LOL

Hendrix is like a police car siren - and gets louder and louder if you try to ignore him!

Jon went back to sea on Friday so it was a really early start to get him to the station. I was really tired, trying to get ready for work when I heard Jagger out of the window ' ack ack ack' which is his 'I'm after a bird' noise.

A poor little fledgling had come down in front of him, obviously tired. He was pouncing around after it, next minute, Hendrix comes to see what the commotion is. The little bird managed to get under a really big bush so I thought it would be okay. Nope. Next minute I had two bengals in the conservatory proudly presenting me with a poor little bird. I managed to lock them out of the kitchen, the bird sensibly fluttered into one of their scratching boxes. I contained the boys and took the bird out to the garage to deal with later (which to me meant burying it as I was sure it would die of shock if nothing else).

It survived! Hendrix must have such a gentle mouth. I went into the garage when I got home from work and the little bird was near the main door, so I opened it up and let it fly out and kept my intrepid hunters in for a few hours.

Hendrix spent most of this morning stalking a squirrel and a pigeon in the garden. He will never catch either - he is so chatty he is talking to them as he is attempting to stealthily creep up on them! I can hear him and I'm indoors!
