I've heard about the UK foxes! It's not just the natural predators, but humans can kill and injure cats, other tom cats and hurt kitties, kitties get into things that aren't good for them. I've always had indoor/outdoor cats. Thought nothing about letting them out when they went to the door and back in when they wanted. But with my Raiden, he went looking for trouble and kept looking until he found it. His previous owner never took him to the vet unless Raiden had gotten abscesses from the fighting -- then it's too late. He had one last good fight before we officially took him and he came to my back door as his owner was out of town. Rushed him to the ER vet and fixed him up -- that's when the guy gave Raiden to me. Once I found he was a bengal, I searched the internet. I think this forum has taught me the most -- and my first post was asking how to make an outdoor bengal into an indoor bengal. Got some fabulous advice. It's a great group here. So happy you are a part of it.

The days are flying by ......

Oh that poor boy it sounds like he was so fortunate to have found you and to live the rest of his life without anymore nasty fighting injuries! Our little Kitty did get a few injuries from something or someone but she had been so used to coming and going and she just loved the outside. She loved our dog and would accompany us on our morning walks everyday, I think that she was taken from her mum far too early so she latched onto the dog and was soon to be found snuggled up to him whenever she could. He is missing her so much and I hope that our new family member will cheer him up. I would much rather our little girl is going to be an indoor cat but I know that there will be a door or window left open at some point no matter how careful we try to be. We have 3 almost grown children 21,20 and 17 and their partners plus we adopted our little girl who is 3 now so realistically I am sure that she will have opportunities to go outside. I am a busy mum and foster carer but when they are all at school or nursery I am left with lots of time on my hands and I just can't wait to meet our little girl. I used to be very sporty but after some illness and an injury I can't do so much as I used to do so it is time that I had a new hobby. I can't think of a better outlet for my time than learning all that I can about these cats. This forum has already given me so much information and I must say I am finding it all so interesting.

Should be just over two weeks now.......

2 weeks today!!!!!!! I have now purchased a much taller tree and a drinking fountain. Is it true that I shouldn't put the food near to the water? I have never been so organised before I got a cat. It's because usually I don't have to wait so long. I have become quite obsessed about Bengals and I am on the web everyday looking up more and more information. I haven't even met her yet just seen pictures as she is a few hours away, this is really tortuous for me as I am already the least most patient person I know lol! It doesn't help that I keep seeing lovely pictures that you guys are posting and writing about their misadventures.

Thanks again I have bought a ceramic bowl fountain so that was the right choice I guess. Am I right that Bengals don't drink very much and they need to be encouraged to do so? I am not sure what my husband will think of the other tree that I have bought I haven't told him yet . He is on his way to Connecticut for a meeting so hopefully I will have managed to have built it by the time he gets back!!!!
This cat has cost an arm and a leg already but I am sure she will be worth it!!!!

Raiden is always getting food in his water. I use the Neater Feeder because he gets the food all over the floor. He doesn't drink a lot of water as he gets mostly wet food. When he's thirsty, he will drink, but it's not often during the day. If you'll be feeding your new baby dry food, then it's important that they drink the water.

You can never have enough cat trees. I have three of different heights and Raiden uses all of them. I know you're super anxious! But the weeks will just fly by. Hopefully, you are going to go and get her and not have her flown over to you. Your heart will melt the first time you hold her and she is worth all the money you are spending.
