Hello.
I would like to introduce myself (Barbara) and our very soon to be fur baby Bengal kitten. He is 5 weeks old and we cannot have him until he is at least 12 weeks old. At the moment we are calling him Winston (as he was born during the last phases of Cyclone Winston which hit Fiji in March and then travelled over to North Queensland to peter out) but would like to change it to either Bean or Nut. The reason for this is that we have a Staffy called Coco, so thought we could kind of link their names somehow.
I will be researching and learning about the breed over the next few weeks, and will no doubt ask many questions hoping you wonderful cat lovers out there will help out.
I was hoping to add a photo but alas, will have to look up how to do so.
For now, thanks, and I look forward to being part of the community.
Barb

Welcome Barbara! I was in Townsville in the mid 90s. I believe that was the port we stopped at to visit the Great Barrier Reef. I have a vague memory of very large petrified frogs dressed in clothes for sale, lol. Seriously though I loved Australia, great weather and friendly people. I'm from another warm, sunny area, south Florida. Looking forward to seeing some photos of your kitty when you get him. The forum has a wealth of information to help you through the lively kitten months.

Welcome. How exciting about your new arrival, we'd all enjoy seeing pictures of him.

I've always wanted to visit Australia, definitely on my bucket list. Ask away about bengals. As far as posting photos, there are two ways to do it:

1. Post your pictures on a hosting site (imageshack, tinypic, photobucket etc), then when you are in the editor creating your post on this site, you click on the picture icon and enter your url's.

2. You just attach your photos to your posts. Down at the bottom of the editor there is a box to select and attach photos. The trick there is that they have to be smaller than 1000x1000 pixels or so (I recently posted in the Gallery section how you can do it from your iphone or ipad if you have one).

Let us know if you are having trouble with any of that. It's not necessarily intuitive the first time you attempt it.

P.S., naming your kitten after a cyclone is probably fitting  That's probably how your house is going to look once he "makes himself at home" at your place!
