I think the time has come to get Pearl neutered, she is now almost 5 months, the last few days she has started calling loudly in the night and lots of noise in the day, she is showing off alot especially in front of Magic, he is taking alot of interest in her(lady garden) if you know what I mean, she puts her bottom up in the air when he goes near her.
Will ring the vets tomorrow and get her booked in, I am a bit worried about after the operation as she likes to jump up everywhere.
Yea, it's kind of a trying experience for both owner and kitty, especially for female cats.
Some advice:
* make sure that they use those internal, dissolving stitches where you won't need to bring her back in at a later time. That is needlessly stressful.
* when you have the discussion with the vet about after-surgery care, make sure that they understand the nature of bengals and their high energy. It's kind of a dilemma really, as they told me "make sure that they (my two bengals) take it easy for the next two weeks after surgery". I looked at them incredulously "but they're bengals", the vet blinked and looked back and me "ok, maybe for one week then..."

I know a lot of the time a vet will give the "collar of shame", which is a real hardship for a bengal. I dunno what the right answer is, but give it all some thought, and have that conversation with the vet.
After you get her back home, you'd expect that she would be conked out and woozy and all that. But in my experience (confirming what I've read from others) it's just the opposite. Something about the anesthesia I think, what they want to do when they get home is exactly what the shouldn't do... they want to run, and jump, and play and go wild

So watch out for that... Have a plan when you open that cat carrier door when she comes home
