Couple days ago I noticed a couple scrap and barf piles, and shrugged it off. Then I noticed a big hairball as well. I later on, figured it was neeka. She would turn her nose down to treats and dry food.. I can get her to eat some canned food, but not as much as she normally does. I suspected she has a hairball blockage she can't get rid off. She kept the little bit of food down, and is overall acting normal. I just can't get her to eat very much..
I've taken her to the Vet, she was given a clean bill of health and a rabies shot. That day, she threw up some bile with little bit of blood around 6am. I feed her around 12pm and she eat about half a can of wet food, and even eat a feeder mouse. Though I had to encourage her to eat the mouse, as she didn't want to really do anything with this at first. She is turning her nose up at treats, dry food and even cooked chicken meat.
I talked with a Ex Vet Tech at the PEt Store, and she suggested that because I gave her L-Lysine (I have stopped) it is likely the cause of all this. She thinks the taste of it caused her to get a negative association with food. So she gets stressed, then throws up because of this.. Then gets stressed because the last food she eat made her sick. So the cycle begins.
She is acting herself, and not acting like she is sick or anything. I did try a different type of cat food, and nuked it for 10 seconds and got her to eat about 1/3 of the can, before she walked away from it. I'm really stumped, I have no idea how to get her better..
